- woscar| 2 repliesWe received a call from 877-569-0859 and didn't pickup because the ID was "Toll Free Number" and we figured it was a telemarketer. They left a VM and it turned out to be Entergy, the power supplier to our new home, warning of a power outage. We aren't there at the moment, but will take it at face value.
- Caller: Entergy
- Call type: Event reminder
- dlayneI answered the 2nd call after reading the previous post. Yes, 877-569-0859 is Entergy. It was a different number than normal. They were warning of possible upcoming outages due to weather.

- ArkansasPhone call from Entergy warning of bad weather and possible outages.
- Caller: Entergy
- johnthis is the electric company calling to warn people of severe weather changes. It is not , repeat not a telemarketer
- Caller: Entergy electric
- For SureIf you are in Northeast Louisiana these calls are SCAMS and Entergy here has already put out a warning. Call your energy office to verify in your area. Look up the number do not call this number back. In the North USA it could be weather warnings but not in the South. The scammers are saying you didn't pay your bill and power will be turned off in 30 to 45 minutes. I know this for a fact not a guess.Do not give them money!!!!
- JaneEntergy called with this recording four times in two days to warn of bad weather, preparation, and then to say the storm was over. Very annoying. When I didn't answer, long recordings were left on voicemail. Useless information.
- Caller: Entergy
- JThis jerk called yesterday using 877 569 0850 Still didn't say anything. researched the # and it is spam/scam
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- JG replies to woscarEntergy a day late, the storm was a 7 this morning. now 6:40 pm
- KenCalled 5 days in a row ,did not answer ,left no message.
- RB| 2 repliesAbsolutely don't understand those complaining about this. Entergy is simply calling you ahead of time to alert you to potential storm outages and advising you how to remain safe after a hurricane. And they call when power is restored in your area so they can accurately assess the issue if you're still out of power when they've restored power to the location you're covered by. It would just be helpful if Entergy updated their system so it shows them as the callerID instead of "800 service".
FWIW my location is Southeast Louisiana so ignore the comment above that it is a scam here.- Caller: Entergy
- Call type: Valid
- Ralph replies to RB| 1 replyHere's a thought. If it's ENTERGY have them call from a recognized number and not one marked by ATT as SPAM.
- BigA replies to RalphWell if it were really that company, then the next thing I would say is that ATT is using information provided by people who report every call as "spam or scam" because they did not answer the call and don't have a clue who called or why. I know it happened to calls from my Doctors several years ago when I was using a free call blocking app.
- RalphIf it's ENTERGY, then damn well say so in the CID. Otherwise, they're just a telemarketer looking to be blocked. Hell, I blocked 'em anyway. Leave a message if it's important.
- Then why doesn't it I'd ENTERGY? replies to woscarWhy isn't the ID show ENTERGY?
- Spammed2muchReceived a call from 877-569-0859 this AM. There was no sound from the other end after I said hello. I live in Baton Rouge and agree with others about potential scammers. When called by numbers not in your phone list and you answer always say as little as possible. The other end could be using your words to establish your voice “finger print” to computer generate your voice identity for other scams. The less anyone knows about you the better in today’s twisted world. If you get a call and the caller asks if you are (they say your name) and you say yes you’ve left a voice profile of your voice agreeing to whatever they want to use the recording for. Think online loans where the money goes to the scammer and you go to court for not paying for the loan your voice agreed to. Sick!
