Call was from an anonymous number on the CID.

I did not answer since the number was blocked that he was calling from. The caller left a voice mail claiming his name was "Alan" of Longwood Industries. He further claimed he was calling about vehicles I had for sale and may have some "Interested Buyers".

I do have two cars for sale, but under no circumstances do I sell to third parties and by cash only. This is specified in my ads. Normally I consider these type callers as scam artists.

Since he acts as a third party claiming to have "Interested Buyers", I'll ignore the call back number he gave as 877-572-5715.

The other comments identifying this company as a telemarketer gives me some ammunition for the Federal Trade Commission. Based on the fact my number is on a do not call list, this should get them a $1500 fine.

That guy was left to my message  like that.  I call back and I talk with his girl friend claiming daughter said she can help me.  I said it to her BS.

Alan is still out there.  "He" left a message today.  Sounded suspicious and with the help of this site it was easily discovered.  Strange world, eh?

I just got a similar call about an hour ago.  same person, same number, same message - claiming they are a 503b company and that he "may" have some interested buyers for my car.

Got a call from an "Unknown ID" for several days in a row, but each time I answered, no one was on the other end.  Today, I got the call again, but did not answer, and a voicemail message from Alan was left claiming he was with Longwood Industries, a 501(c)3 company that matches car buyers and sellers.  He left his number as 877-572-5715.  I did not call him and am glad I Googled that number to find information about this.  Thanks everyone!

Heard from Alan today as well on a junk car I am selling as parts.  Sounds like a scam alright.  Glad this site had some information on that phone number.  Thanks!

Same deal with me.  I  placed an ad in our local paper and received a call from "Alan" too.  Thanks SO much for the person who posted the BBB report!!!!

Alen @ 877-572-5715 (showed as UNKNOWN) called today, this company found my add on craigslist and felt I should pay them $150 to sell my car on there web site. Be warned.

I just got an identical call today  about vehicle that I have on Craigslist. I figured it was some type of "opportunist"

I got the same call from Alan 3 times saying he had a buyer from my truck.  I have asked him to stop calling after the 2nd call and he still proceeded to call back.  I did file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission because I am on the do not call list and have an unpublished phone number.  My vehicle is for sale on craigslist and specifically have it set up as anonymous email so no one can call or have my email.

Same deal, one call answered was hung up on, one to voicemail was the 'pleasant' message from Allen. Don't you just want to kick him in the balls?

Got the same call from Alan this morning at around 8:30 am.  Same info you've all been getting, but the kicker is that I'm not selling a vehicle.  I've advertised my business on Craigslist, though, so apparently all these [***] are getting the number from there.  

Perhaps I should call back and mess with them?

I'm always suspicious of 800-866-877 etc etc numbers especially ones not showing who the caller is.

Same exact guy and claims from my Craig's list Car ad.  Guess it's not a good idea to list your phone # on Craig's list because of scammers taking advantage of your info.  Live and learn - always a rotten egg out there to spoil it for everyone.
