Correct - A real process server will NOT warn you that they are coming - and would have your address.  Think scare tactic.

Right I have received all the same messages, until last week the guy said he was with City Serve and wants to serve legal paperwork.

Got a call saying they would sue me immediately if I didn't pay $700. I asked for documentation showing the debt and they tried to bully me. They said if they had to send the paperwork, they would immediately file the court papers and I would owe $2100. Total scam. Said it was for a lowes credit card but I don't have one and never have.

To the post above yours - VIOLaTION of the FDCPA - refusing to mail proof of debt within 5 days of request and making a threat of court is also illegal.

These Guys are Scammers. They are Mafia type Bill Collectors trying to collect old Debts and making up some new ones. Social Security # are easy to get these days on line. They try and Scare you into paying an amount. They say the Bill is 5,000.00 but they will take $750.00 to make it go away. I work at a Law Firm and I can tell everyone that a Legal Problem is never made over the phone. They called me and I told them to Serve me or Shut Up. It has now been 3 months and No Action. It is all a Bluff. It is Sad that some People do Pay this Guys. In the Legal Business the Element of Surprise is GOLDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That is why they are Scammers

Easy to tell it's a scam. I gave them random numbers and a fake name. They said they had me pulled up and I had a court order. As I pressed for more information the call disconnected.

Same thing about a hour ago..I asked him for papers to be sent my email he said he had to place me on hold while he talked to the front office but before he could send it to me we need to make a payment arrangement. I told him I had called the courthouse which I did they didn't find anything and I called the police department AND checked my credit report for the debt he was talking about. He then said it won't be in the court system or in my credit report yet because they haven't sent the paperwork over yet.....really complete scam!  Still haven't seen any paper work smdh

It's an ongoing legal scam. They buy some bits of your personal information from wherever then they call claiming they're a process server (hint- process servers don't call to warn you they are trying to serve you) or are otherwise taking legal action against you. They try to make it sound scary. Sometimes they say it's about your tax (second hint- the IRS has said they won't contact you by phone regarding tax issues, and they would contact you before taking legal action). This could be related to the Bahamas Marketing Group payday loan scam the government shut down a few years ago. Don't call them back, don't give them information, and if they keep calling, report the harassment to your local law enforcement.
If in doubt, call your local clerk of court, they can check if there are any lawsuits filed against you. As well, remember, individuals and companies cannot bring criminal actions against you, no matter what they say. That has to be done by the government.

Called real early in the morning claiming that I had a lawsuit under my Social Security number caller identified herself as Monica and I hung up on her or I'm not even sure if it was her and not a machine

The lady had called me and said her name was Monica James stating she's collecting a debit that I paid off a few years ago. I asked for the number to the company she told me to google it.

ID themselves as Wyman Acquisition.  Lady would not give me any more info.  Something called Wyman Acquisitions or some variation of the name "Wyman" occurs on 800notes.  The acronym  WAG would appear to stand for Wyman Acquisitions Group.  No such group that I can find.

In any event, a total debt scamming group.  Ignore and block any calls from this number or the CID.
