they called twice - did not answer

They called twice. 15 min apart. I did not answer either call.

The investment company.

This is a legitimate caller.  It is Vanguard sending a one-time log-in code for accessing one's account online.  The caller ID says  TOLL FREE CALL.

Received call from Vanguard (877)-662-7447 Unknown in United States on Mon. 3/6/17 at 8:15pm & left an automated message on my unlisted phone number to retrieve a one-time voicemail code & stated press "1'' I couldn't get the code & the automated message kept repeating press "1". Legitimate call that didn't work for the security code.

The phone number that Vanguard uses for 2 factor authentication.  The Yubikey is even better; but this is ok if you don't have one. The # is legitimate.

Then why didn't they leave a message when they called me?

The Vanguard person calling said it was concerning year end minimum IRA distribution requirement but when he wanted my mother's maiden name I decided to end the call. I immediately called Vanguard and it WAS a legitimate call which they had a record of.

I was looking through my call list and I didn't remember who this was until I read above. They called me in the 2-step computer verification process just before I logged on to my account. It is Vanguard.

I received call though I have nothing to do with them. I have never heard of this VANGUARD before. I just blocked the number

Voicemail for "Bradley Douglas" (not me) about a failure to respond to some BS. They say they are Direct Recovery Services, and mentioned account number 114490485.
So glad that I'm not Bradley!
