A summonds for court From Detective Copa from my local courier service. Please call and fax a stand down letter????? But it came under unknown and left number in voice mail.Don't they know impersonating a law officer is against the law ?

I got this same message today. The number was restricted so my phone could not block it. He called my phone, my daughter's phone, and my stepmom's phone. Really? He says he is going to show up at my house or work on Friday. Go ahead. I hope he has the right address 😆

Called ex-wife said there was a summons for my arrest. First of all if you've done something wrong law enforcement agencies don't call, they show up at your home or work place to arrest you. Also, a summons is different from an arrest warrant! Idiot's no law enforcement agency has a "800" number scam caller.

Got several stupid calls from these idiots. Caller ID says LA COURT. Then leaves number for a Mrs. Martinez. Talk about law suit saying your gonna serve me at unknown skip trace address then your from LA COURT.

Yea I just got a call from an “Aaron Mitchell” telling me to be at my house between 3-5 then I called the 877 number he left and the Martinez lady never answers

They called my phone and my daughter phone with the same message they was coming tomorrow between 3 - 5 pm, and of course gave me the 877 number to call back, this is not the first time they called, I blocked the last local number that called and this one also

Got a phone call from local unblocked number so I answered it. Muffled male voice saying he’s from Theo Lacy Facility and will be delivering a court summons from OC superior court between 3-5pm. The number on caller ID matched and I asked what the so called case/docket number was. He stated he could only tell me it’s from Preston, Scott & Associates. Stated he’s a moron and then gave me the random 877-671-5411 phone number. I called and some woman answered. I hung up and have called numerous times now without an answer. It goes to a recording system of a Ms Martinez. These scammers get bolder by the minute

Oh, good! You're going to press charges against him so you must know the legal name and business address! Please share it so others can do the same

You are not law enforcement and you cannot "file charges".  However this is what you can do:

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid. 

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Got call saying I'm being served with a summons for a court case. Said they'd be at my home between 3 and 5 and if I wasn't home it'd be a Failure to Appear. Gave phone number 877-671-5411 for a Rosa Martinez who never answered.  Have my actual address, but then I'm part of a class action lawsuit against UCLA and Capital One due to their sites being hacked.
