RECIEVED IN POSTAL MAIL card saying ....Trying to reach you....been selected to recieve$100.00 in rebates to use at neighborhood retailers like WAL-MART AND TARGET, you'r choice...limited time offer...call toll-free...1-877684-2579........have no idea if scam or what...was trying to find out  ???

Its a scam.  There are 2 ways it can work.  Both start with them talking you into giving them your credit card number or bank account number.  

1) legal.  To get the gift card you have to sign up for some sort of shopping club.  The club costs about $50/month, charged to the card number you gave them.  Its worthless and it takes at least 4 months to cancel the membership.  You get the gift card but you spend more than $100 on the shopping club membership.

2)  Illegal.  They never send you the gift card.  They use the credit card number you gave them to buy stuff in your name, spending up to your limit and beyond.

Throw the card in the recycle bin.

I received the same post card. It's a scam. I told them I would call them back with my CC info... after checking with the BBB. She said don't call back this offer is only to the first fifty callers.
