Caller claimed to be working with Windows technical support and said my computer had "been hacked by the hackers" and was sending messages to Windows and would crash if I didn't get on the computer now and let him walk me through how to fix it. Heavy accent, lots of background noise and very belligerent. Asked to speak to a supervisor and seemed he came back on trying to disguise his voice at which point I hung up. No 877 number listed on Windows contacts. Called back and recorded message did not identify company but said I might be able to get special offer if I answered a few questions.

Call at 8:40 am said from windows tech support because they are getting error msg that someone is trying to take over my computer. Had fake computer ID#, wrong operating system, and using phone # not associated with the computer. Threatened to permanently disable my computer remotely if I didn't cooperate. Very surly young man with strong Indian accent. Hung up on me when I said I knew it was a scam. Call back to number yielded fishing for demographic info and credit card numbers for "free" prizes.

I am reporting this for my mother-in-law. Unfortunately she fell for this scam this morning  from this number that has been calling her for three days straight and she finally answered. Based on the fear they put in her by saying that her computer had multiple viruses and it was a very serious issue and that she needed to turn on her computer immediately... Unfortunately, she did so.   Without giving them any more information they were able to get inside the PC Once it was on.  She finally caught on when they asked for credit card information to fix the situation. When she started asking questions they got very angry and even more threatening of what her PC was sending out but ended up hanging up... but the damage was already done.  We are lucky enough to have an IT person in our family with his master's degree so he cleaned her computer.  Took a couple hours... They did install TeamViewer... For the elderly, sometimes they do not know any better when these Jerks put fear in them and that is their tactic. SICKENING!!!

Call this morning at 9:23 Central.  Recorded message to sell me numerous random products such as $100 rebates, asked me to identify if I was 55 years or older and to sell me Dish Network that wasn't Dish Network.  HUGE HUGE SCAM!!!!!  DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!

Male with heavy east indian accent claimed to represent Windows computers and claimed that my computer was "hacked" and would be "shut off" if he wasn't allowed to fix it.

call received BEFORE 0900!  did not know # - did not answer phone - caller left no msg

Called at 6:30 a.m.  Read it was scam number
