This is a scam! All after market vehicle warranties are scams! They will take your money with out providing much(any service). All you need to do is take the money they will charge you and put it under you mattress. When(if) you have one of those mechanical problems that isn't covered under their extensive list of exceptions, you can pay cash for the repairs. If you don't have any mechanical problems, the money is still under your mattress. The people who run these scams live in million dollar mansions at your expense. Never provide personal information(ie. CC #s) to any unsolicited offer. They prey on normal people so they can live a life of luxury. Don't be normal! Be exceptional and get rid of your CCs. That way they can never tap into your credit and destroy you! The mailer calls themselves Key vehicle Division with a PO box(lol). Wentzville, MO 63385. I'll bet if you send them a letter it will be returned addressee unknown. Good luck and God bless! May the peace we all seek be with you!

They also call themselves (on the phone and by mail), the "Motor Vehicle Division" so they appear to be the DMV and/or the manufacturer out of Dallas, Texas (see postage permit on envelop if mailed).

Yup, it's a scam.  They send this official-looking stuff saying you're "required" to respond and will be "financially liable" if you don't buy their warranty.  Toss it, it's junk.

like many of us, I received a mailer not a phone call but it was kind enough to include this phone # 1-877-720-3786. It was nearly identical to one that I had received days earlier that provider the contact # 1-866-424-3336. On the same day I received two more that looked different from the first two but nearly identical to each other, each with a different #. Without a doubt this is con artistry at work. The question is how do they get your information? Oh yeah, good call on cross checking 'business' address and postmark location.

You would think that a government that wants to control every dollar we spend for insurance, medical costs, taxes,
unemployment and other give away programs, would be able to put these hundreds of scams out of business and
people could afford the necessary things in life.

Yes, this is a scam. Received a letter in mail. Upon quick glance it looks like some government program with your state "Division of Motor Vehicles"

They also note a "Platinum" Program - so they are using the Obamacare levels of health insurance to make it sound more like a government program.

Basically they sniff all the car sales in counties, (public record) have some computer program harvest the VIN and owner information, then spit out these letters to get extended warranty coverage.

We got extended warranty coverage from the reputable car dealer we went thru.

Sent me a a vehicle warranty told me for 3000.00 I would get a warranty 100.00 deductible and it would be good for 100 thousand miles or 5 years save your money it is a scam just hang up is the best way to handle it is not to get involved at all you will be making a big mistake I hope I save you from them scam all the way save your money. Or get better car or truck

I purchased a vehicle from a large national chain along with a reputable extended warranty. Someone there is either fishing the information or selling it post sale. I hate junk mail and don't even open it. It goes straight to the shredder, it gets a workout :)
What is wasteful is that I have been receiving one of these a day since I purchased my vehicle. The letters and cards are a different format and from a different city and state most days. They have my name and type of vehicle. I recommend never contacting these scammers. And I bet trying to trace them would waste a lot of time and resources. Too bad they don't have return postage envelopes. I would fill them with their own trash and send it back. That would then cost them. Oh well, my advice is to trash them and move on. The sad part is that they try to look like official documentation. The more stuff like this that's out there the more people get scammed unfortunately. Just my two cents.....

I received an "official" looking notice in the mail. Yup, they're crooks. Don't be fooled. I love how they say "our records indicate you have not contacted *us*" [my emphasis] while their notice is devoid of any name or return address whatsoever. Can't wait for them to get charged with fraud and thrown in the slammer.

Thanks so much to all of you for reporting this telephone number.  When I saw the unopened envelope, I thought it was from motor vehicles (a traffic ticket or something).  It was not until I looked up the telephone number and saw all of your responses that I found out what the real deal was.  I don't answer my phone unless I recognize the number, so they won't get me that way.  Thanks again.

I called a similar number listed on one of the many letters I've received, 800-264-3023. I asked them to take me off their mailing list, then asked to speak with a supervisor.  I was told they obtain the information from my 'consumer data report'.  From what I gather, this is how many businesses obtain personal information so they can then send you ads, coupons, etc. The 'after market vehicle warranty scams' just look much more intimidating… My advice is to call the number on each of the letters you receive and immediately ask them to take you off their mailing list.  Each letter has an 'ID' number listed that they will ask you for.  I did not use my cell phone to do this, just in case :)

I am an attorney that is researching issues related to companies sending extended auto warranties/vehicle service contract solicitation letters. If you have received such a letter, which included information about a vehicle that you own, or have owned in the past few years, that includes the actual make.model and year of your vehicle, please send me a copy of the letter. I am gathering info at this time for research only to outline all the companies doing this, and the states in which they have sent letters. I am investigating the source of the data that is used to make up the mailer. Please email any additional documents received, notes about any telephone call, and contact me. Recieved letter. Made to look very official except they didn't really include the name of the company, only phone # 1-877-720-3786 so I Googled that and found this site. Thanks to all who have confirmed what I had guessed. In my letter they warm that I'll only have this one chance to extend my vehicle warranty and that if I don't, I will be liable for all repair costs... oooow! Further more, if I don't respond by such-and-such date, my file on this vehicle (Toyota, Honda, or Nissan of unknown vitage) will be deleted and I'll no longer be eligable for their offer regarding service coverage...ooo000wwwWWW! No Platinum/powertrain coverage for me!
