I received a call from this number today, Dec 18, with the same voicemail left as the commenter, Nancy, except mine started in the middle of a sentence, as their stupid bot started its message too early for the voicemail.

The "Fresh Start" program is an old name for a temporary program that is no longer available. I reported this number and their voicemail to Homeland Security. If you owe taxes, you will simply be mailed a letter and continue to collect interest on your taxes up to 25% until paid off. Do not fall for this scam! Also notice that this caller never states their name or organization, a big red flag!

Received by our landline answering machine. The automated message began before the answering machine finished its greeting, so it started recording at the point the person gave a name. This is the transcript of the recorded message.  "...Amanda from the Tax Debt Resolution Center, reaching back out regarding tax file #FED323412. It appears that we may have important information related to your past filings and recent tax changes. Please call telephone number 877-730-5423. With the years end approaching, now is a great time to consider the Fresh Start program, which may render any amount owed, large or small, non-collectible. If you still have outstanding taxes or missed filings, please call telephone number 877-730-5423 today. Taking action now can help remove this burden before time runs out."

I got a voicemail with this message today. Seems like the scam is pretty new.
Seemed suspicious as I have gotten no mail in the past or recently from the IRS about anything unusual.

This number (877-730-5423) is a cold-call Direct Marketing type scam. You get a recorded message claiming that your current or past Federal or State tax return may have errors or omissions, of which (they imply) will initiate an IRS or similar State Audit. They also convey a bogus 'tax filing ID number' which was found to be invalid.  If you get a call or a message from them Tax Debt Resolution Center HANG UP and delete/erase it. They are a scam. Preying primarily on Sr Citizens.  Report them to Do Not Call.

They actually left voicemail from number 314.542.8728 Creve Coeur, MO to get in touch with them if I have outstanding taxes or filings for my taxes. I'm sure some kind of scam.

Must be a scam robocall - since nobody ever answered whenever I returned the call to their number!   They even noted a fake file number which never existed!

The robocall had been made on 01/08/2025.  No response - no answer - was done by this caller when their call was returned!

Same as many of the comments above by others.  When will someone stop these whacko's from the calls, almost every few days for the last month

Same as above.  I have never had any tax problems. Yet they call me way  too often.  It seems the government could do something to stop them.  Don't ever call them back.  They are "harvesting" your phone number so they can reuse it on other scam calls.  If you have questions about your taxes, go straight to the IRS.
