Called my phone and I didn't answer, then they called my daughter and also called my work number and gave me a case number.  When I called back it went to answering service who then transferred me to another person in the answering service to make sure I was who I said I was.  There is a complaint against me and when I asked for information, they claimed something about privacy act and they needed to verify who I was and asked me for social and birthdate.  Right she says sarcastically....like I am going to give you that info.  Needless to say - blocked..  Read that others are getting the same call and they are asking for money for debt that doesn't exist.

I have a private call which I never answer that left a message with a case number about a complaint placed against my disabled husband the woman said the case will be noted as received since she left a message lol anyway I do believe it to be a scam since I was target a little while ago of being harrassed about paying a hospital bill I never had! I kept all voicemails of these idiots makes no sense how they call your immediate family to make you pay something you didn't do! Thank goodness for Google and number look ups hopefully it will put a end to these low life scammers!!!! All I have to say is file on cause until I have reasonable court paperwork it isn't worth my valuable breath or time discussing!

I just received a private call number with the same messages above, except it referenced that the call was for a friend of a friend. Weird.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off of the internet.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Received a No Caller ID call from this phone #.  The caller left an urgent message to call back this # with a File #. The voice mail stated that there was a complaint filed against me, and there was a pending action.  Stated to call the # 877-735-3495 to contact the Furman Control Co.  Stated that they can proceed without my consent because of this voicemail I have been notified of this matter.  This is a bunch of BS and a Scam.  Do not answer the call, nor call them back.

They continue to call my dads house in another state, saying that I have a bill and a package that cant be delivered. My dad keeps calling scared that I'm in trouble.

My dad was just targeted today by these scammers. They called both my brother and my mom saying they were trying to serve him legal papers. But they never tried to contact my dad yet or send him anything via mail. Total scam. But its scary because they apparently sound like a real law firm and it freaked out my mom and brother thinking my dad was in trouble. My mom called back to let them know she doesn't have my dad's info anymore and she talked to someone going by the name Michelle. Same name used in previous reports about this scam.

This number has called me stating there is a complaint against me. I blocked my number and returned the call and it rings once and a busy noise sounds. SCAM!!!!

As this is a toll-free number, blocking your number before calling it doesn't work.

This is a scam not a debt collector they are scam artist trying to get money from you, be careful and do not give them any information
