We have recieved magazines that we did not order for my son who does not have a credit card. I called the magazine and told them that my son is underage and has no authority to order magazines. They said they were able to stop the magazine because he was under age, but I want to know HOW they acquired the information (through what site), so I can report them to the Better Business Bureau. The agency that submitted the subscription to the Magazine was Subdata Processing Agency. I will not pay a bill for this.

I called Reader's Digest today.  They gave me this number to call as one of their agencies.  Instead I looked this number up because US Readers #727-499-0608, also a scam, may call you about RD subscriptions.

My father has been receiving US Weekly for about a year now and has tried to cancel the order. My mother has tried too. Four or five times.  He didn't order it to begin with. They tried by emailing US Weekly and they kept sending the magazine. I called them today and they I had to call Sub Data Pro whom I looked for online and couldn't find. It was supposedly ordered thru them so it has to be cancelled thru them. My father is no longer living so we don't want the magazine we never did.  The subscription is suppose to end in Sept 2012 but i want it stopped now. Please help !!!

It is being sent to Norman Pickett

just like the others I got a mags today that I did not order maxim I called them and cancel which they did but they give me this #877-737-6247 I called them and they cancled it and give me this # 1-800-237-7855 thay said it was free for a year and they do not have my info so it was up to me after a year to then pay to renew or they can cancel now and that I was not billed for anything so I canceled. they say they they just grab emails and then send free mags for a year to that person. but how do they get your address state and zip from your email address? not sure how that works but I called my bank and I have not been charged anything and told them to block any charges for mags on my accouant hope this helps thanks.

Starting receiving Newsweekly magazine. No bill, and my account has not been charged. E-mailed Newsweekly and they gave me the 8777376247. Called twice and it was just music and then a voice mail. I am not leaving my information on a voicemail that I don't know about so I will try to call again. E-mailed Newsweekly again and told them to give me a different number. We will see what happens with that...

My son started receiving Men's Fitness, ESPN, Popular Science and Hot Rod Magazines; however, he did not order them.  Upon calling ESPN, they indicated that they would stop the subscription next month but that I would have to call Subdata Pro(cessing) as that was the agency through which the magazine was ordered.  Upon calling the 877-737-6247 number, music started playing but no one ever came to the phone.  However, after hitting "0" to get to an operator, a message played to leave your info and they would get back with you; however, not knowing who we're dealing with, I did not leave a number. I will report this to the NC Attorney General's office for further overview and possible fraud processing.

Sub data pro is subscribing to magzines in my name. How they got my information is what really scares me.
Apparently according the internet, they are also taking out payday loans.....same company different number.
I'm going to contact the Attorney General of Arizona and decide how to proceed.

    Wanna hear their excuse?

Edison Publishing gave me a "free trial".  It's has expired so now I'm receiving a bill.  Sub data pro stated that they are NOT the ones billing me.  Of course not!!!  They just suscribe for me and sell the acct.
I've contacted the Attorney General in Colorado and the BBB.
Something tells me that THEY will be receiving ALOT of magazines in the very near future.

Same as all the above.  I got a Latina magazine subscription.  Called Latina...they told me that Subdata pro had to cancel my sub.  Told them I will never pay for it so they might as well cancel it.  Claimed she couldn't.  I called subdata...left message.  I'm sure they'll never call me back.

I checked my credit card companies and haven't received a bill as yet.  I'm a lifelock customer so I hope they cover me in that event.  Don't really know.  But sounds like identity theft to me.

    I live in Nebraska.

Same thing. Just got Latina magazine in the mail. Never ordered it, don't want it. Called and cancelled but they said it was set up by Sub Data Pro. Gave me # 877-737-6247. Rang forever and then finally went to vmail. Told them to delete everything in my name. We'll see what happens.

Couldn't this be considered mail fraud since the mags are all mailed? Sic the postmaster after them?

I received a renewel noticed today for the US Magazine that I Never ordered and dont care to read.  I called the following number 866-456-0540 to inquire on how and why I started getting this magazine?  The rep on the phone provided me this number - 877-737-6247 and told me I had to call  Sub Data Pro to cancelled  it as they were the ones that set it up.  It rang forever and then finally went to voicemail.  I will be calling them first thing in the morning and then I am going to the Police to file a report, then to the Better Business Bureau and report them.  I will not be liable for any charges for a subscription that I never signed up for !!!!!!  This is an absolute Fraudulent Account!!!!

    Anne,

This is absolutely NOT what I said, not even CLOSE.
I would never say that to you as it is not true.
We have no information at SDP as to why or how a subscriber gets signed up for a magazine.

SDP is a magazine clearing house - that means we accept subscriptions from companies (such as Edison Publishing) and process the orders to the publisher.

In this case, Edison Publishing is the company that signed you up for the magazine, and they can answer questions as to why and how.  Again, SDP does not have any of that information.

We did not subscribe you, Edison Publishing did.
SDP has never and never will "sell accounts".
SDP has no billing information, SDP does not sell magazines to subscribers.

SDP is nothing more than a data processing center for magazine agents such as Edison Publishing.

If anyone ever has a problem, they are welcome to call us and we will help you get the assistance you need from the proper magazine agent regarding your magzine subscription.  SDP does not participate in any scams, we have an "A" rating with the BBB for years, and we support good business practices.
