Received a call from this number.  Said hello.  After a pause they hung up.  When I called back they said they had my number and would get back to me.

I've been getting spammed by this number lately.  There's always just silence on the other side.  One time I yelled at them to stop calling and they hung up immediately.

Don't ever call a number back.   The No Call Law has a loophole that says if you initiate contact then they can call you without penalty.

    Kim,

Record the call.  Tell them that she has passed and that the estate has been settled, so there is no money left.  Also tell them that they are to cease communication.  Tell them that you are recording the call, and that you will make full use of the FDCPA and TCPA if they continue to call.  If they persist, tell them to please file suit so that they can explain their conduct to a judge.  If they become abusive hang up.  Do not answer them again.

However, if these are scofflaw slimeballs, that may not work. Especially if they are overseas. If they persist, you may have to use a call blocking solution such as a call blocking phone, or Google Voice.

I am sorry for your loss.  Please don't let some creep try to use the fact to get you upset (and believe me, some of these jerks will).  If they do, record them.

    Well,

They already had your number.  But bullies love trying to frighten people.  Fortunately, it doesn't work on informed consumers.

And yes, it is soooo shady.

Just as many of you are sayIng, I got a call around 9am. What seems strange to me is that all of these reports are happening within the past week or so. Where are all of you guys from? I'm from northwest Ohio and never answer my phone. This bastar woke me up early on a Saturday and I couldn't help but to google the number. If you guys have any further information, please let me know. I now know not to call back, that's for sure.

Hey, just like the rest of you I'm amazed that this number is doing all this contact today. I receieved one call at 9:24 and a second at 12:28 from this number (I'm in California so that's PST). Apparently the pattern is to call 3 tims so I'm waiting for my third. Rejected both calls, no message was left. I called back from my work phone and got only a recorded message saying "Thank you for calling, we have your number and will get back to you" in a rather creepy female voice. Quite an odd call overall.

I have continued to get calls from this company.  They keep saying they are offering continued education programs for me.  I have asked them to stop contacting me the week of April 15, 2012.... have recorded every call since.  I have filed a complaint with the FCC just this afternoon.  No more then get done filing the complaint and they call again.  I ask to speak with a supervisor this time and was told hold on and they hung up!  SO IRATE at this point I want to reach through my phone and punch 'em in the eye!

The reason for these and all other similar calls is to "encourage" you to purchase either hardware or software or a telecom provider service that will prevent your phone from ringing if the calling number or name is on a do not ring through list. Its the same scheme that electric power companies use to provide meter box and equipment level surge protection units for a fee so that power can be deregulated and totally privatized as has happened in Florida  under a Republican Governor and legislature even though the State has more registered Democrats.

It's part of a privatization scheme folks the likes of which we have never seen before in a society that has a growing number of wealthy citizens that do not need to pool their resources through taxes to afford any kind of tax revenue funded service. Soon you will be able to expect "accidental" fires from discarded cigaret butts and cinder from chimney's and barbeque grills using specially designed wood and other fuels.

Profit motive, if not regulated, can result in all sorts of evil and illegitimate things.

Update, got my third call at 3:42 and when I answered someone said they were trying to follow up on my request for information about college. I informed them I did not request any information and when I insisted I be taken off their list and not contacted further the woman (Kathryn) hung up. Hopefully that's my third and final call, we'll see

I've been getting the calls.  I think I should note I'm a critic of Israel and a conspiracy theorist living in florida, just in case it is a property we share.

@Joe "Its the same scheme that electric power companies use to provide meter box and equipment level surge protection units for a fee so that power can be deregulated and totally privatized as has happened in Florida  under a Republican Governor and legislature even though the State has more registered Democrats."

It may be an interesting conspiracy against de-regulation, as strict constitutionalist Ron Paul is trying to de-regulate everything, and turn everything over to privatization.  If what you say is true, then I am suspecting this and many other events will be perpetrated by opponents of Ron Paul attempting to either prove a point or influence perspectives on this election.
