got a virus warning on my laptop. said to call this number. they said they were "microsoft support". wanted permission to remote control my laptop to see if there was virus. refused, restored and powerwashed my chromebook. its fine. pretty sure its a scam but they were very impressive in their arguments. glad i didnt give them remote.

Yeh they did the same thing to us my dad gave his password " now he it's not working and they wanted money to get the computer running again' they added a bunch of crap that wasn't on there

I got the same message and my computer was locked up. I made the mistake of calling them and letting them access my computer. How do I protect myself now? They told me only they could unlock my computer but it didn't unlock until I called back and went ape on them. I couldn't use my computer at all is why I gave in and called them.
