Call from David of "Medical Revenue Service", it showed as "Martinsvill, VA, 276-656-2281 in my machine. Machine message said "by continuing to listen to this message you confirm that you are ***** and are liable for this debt. This is an attempt to collect a debt."

There were no google results for the 276 number. I googled the 877 number I was instructed to call and it came up as Medical Data Systems.

I had the very same experience.  I called him back and he seemed decent to me.  Of course, my balance was $50 and I told him I would call him back tomorrow and pay... :)

They keep calling me. I don't know what they want I've already payed months ago I just wish they'd stop.

I hope you validated the debt before you paid it - even if it was only $50.

Debt Collectors are getting out of hand and breaking laws to collect debts that are not owed..  

Once you pay them - its no guarantee they will not sell it to another company and it starts all over again -or worse - they will not pay the original creditor either.  Just steal money from both you and the client.

If you paid the debt months ago - it sounds like they are not going to stop trying to collect from you.  They probably did not pay the client either.
