This number popped up when I opened an article to read on TheBlaze in the form of a warning message saying my computer is infected. What this is - it's malware.
What it does: Locks up your browser to force you to call the number.
Call the number and they'll steal your info.
DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER.
It is a scam.
They are frauds and NOT from microsoft or whatever other domain they say they're from. NOTHING they do will help you.
The ONLY thing that will help is closing your browser via the task manager.
DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS ON THE BROWSER.
Instead - click Ctrl. Alt and delete at the same time, then choose "task manager" (if on win 8.1 or 10) on older windows systems, this will automatically open task manger.
From the task manger on older systems, click on the browser name that you're using and then click "End Task" or "End Process"
On 8.1 or 10, click "More Details" and then click your browser name and then "End Task" or "End Process.
Next, download malwarebytes and scan the heck out of your system. If this popped onto your system, it means the antivirus you're using ISN"T WORKING.

I just got that message. Why do you not press anything on the browser?

NOTHING but COMPLETE fraud. This number keeps calling my house AFTER 2300 and claiming to be from MICROSOFT.

keeps popping up on my computer under website name restricted2website.com.  I called the number. First guy answered saying he was from microsoft.  Of course I know he's not.  It pops under a homepage that looks like microsoft.  When I called their number again the second guy says their company is called best buy options. He gave his name as Danny. The first guy said his name was James Warner. Of course he sounds like he's from India so I know that his name is not James Warner.  When I asked Danny to speak to James Warner he said there's no one there by that name.
