877-766-9486

I received a call from this number today, 877-766-9486 saying that they were calling from Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They told me to call back and gave me this number and another number to identify myself. They did not say why I should call back before December 23 of this year and I was suspicious. I tried calling the 800 number on my Empire id card but it is almost impossible to get through to a human being. I think this may be a scam although I have no way of checking this. It could be another Medicare scam from another HMO trying to pick up customers. This is the lowest of the low and if they are legitimate I should be able to check their id before giving out any information about myself.

I received an automated call saying they were from my insurance provider Bravo. They stated a Dr's name & wanted to know if I was planning to keep the appointment set the next day. I could not reach anybody to tell them I had no appointment for that date. Bravo new nothing of this call.
