On 121210 & 121310, I received severals calls from this 877-770-2852 number. When I tried to call them back to see who or what they wanted, the automated message said,"Welcome to Verizon wireless. The number you dialed has changed, been disconnected or is longer in service."

Called 2 July 18. No message. Suspect scam. Blocked.

It is from Synchrony Bank.  I opened a store charge card (managed through Synchrony Bank) and they called the following day with an automated message.

Also opened an account with Synchrony bank.
I ignored the call. They left a message for me to call a different number.

Also opened an account with Synchrony bank.  Let call go to voice message, and a pre-recorded message identify call from Synchrony regarding recently open account with Discount  Tires asking to return call to (855) 486-5155.

I got 3 calls within 2 min from this number but I haven't opened any store accounts and I've never even heard of Synchrony Bank.
I guess I better find out who I reach to see if my ID has been stolen. Jeez, it's a pain in the butt being part of this new world.

Synchrony bank. New account due to Discount Tire tire purchase.

Received a call that I did not answer and they did not leave a message. But I did recently open an account with Synchrony through an automotive repair shop. Assume from previous posts that that is who this was and they will try again another time.

Synchrony Bank.  Bought tires at Discount Tire with their CC for a 20% discount.. The call came in on the 877-770-2852 number but said that the number to contact them was 855-486-5155

You can be sure that 20% discount will be quickly eaten up by their usurious interest rates.

They offered a 10% discount with 0% interest for six months. It sure helped me, as I bought four tires for three vehicles (twelve tires total).  Once that six months is up, I'll just transfer any remaining balance to another zero interest card that I have with no transfer fees, and will have them paid off a few months later.  It was worth it!

But, if you're someone who won't pay it off in six months, you're correct that the discount will quickly be eaten up.

Checking here as I received a call from this number. No message was left. I did purchase tires from Discount Tire on the weekend, so based on this site I am assuming the call legitimate. Annoyed no message was left or number for a call back. There are way to many bogus callers these days :(.

You are 100% correct.  The information on the initial call is sketchy but I came here to this site and found a comment about Synchrony Bank. I just started an account through Discount Tire last week. The call back number on my voicemail was different but correct and direct to a Synchrony Rep. It was a legitimate "welcome" call.

And what did they want they call my house for my husband the were from the same bank. He also open a store charge card.It is for really or is it a scam?

I think this is not really Synchrony bank and they are just phishing!

I also received a call. I also just opened an account. When ask to call back. The automative asked to enter my land line number. I called from my alternative phone number. The phone just rings and rings. It was weird.
