    This number keeps calling every other day with a recorded msg saying something about my account with BestBuy. I have never shopped there, ever!! Nor, do I have an account with them. If you press 1, which the recorded voice tells you to do, then they charge you a fee on your next bill. Or so I hear. I don't press anything and always just hang up!! Which I advise everyone to do when a weird number calls. If anyone has come up with a way to make them stop calling, let me know!!

    When you look the number up online it shows the number for UPS delivery.. not so

    appears to be fraudulent .. I called my cellphone provider to make sure I don't get charged .. such pricks!!!

    I received a letter in the MAIL (with the Best Buy logo, both on the actually letter and the envelope) with this number listed as the contact number. I didn't phone the number.

    This number called and I let it go to voicemail.  A recorded voice says that they are Best Buy and that their records show that that my warranty information is out of date.  Obviously it's a scam.

    Recieved the letter and envelope yesterday; had no idea what I might have purchased at Best Buy with any warranty. I believe Best Buy has an internal issue with their staff selling our personal information (name, address, etc) to these scammers.

    Maybe move any shoppingt away until Best Buy takes it seriously and clean it up?

    Got the same call it turns out that my mastercard info changed.
    Called mastercard and yes the info has changed.
    updated info with best buy and all is good once again.
    warranty good till 2015 on my smart phone.

    This phone call is coming from a company called assurant. They are the insurance company that does the billing for the Best Buy Product Exchange Plans for cell phones and the Ultimate Protection Plan for Laptops, Tablets etc.  If your monthly credit card payment fails to go through they call to let you know you need to update your billing.  After 3 months of non-payment your insurance will be canceled and it will reflect badly on your credit score.

    Not a scam.  If you have changed billing information recently with Best Buy for their protection plan, they will call you to update.  I just called them back and updated my info, as I had purchased one when they sold me my phone a couple years back.  Maybe for everyone who is claiming it is a scam phone call, you better go back in your CC records and check if perhaps your card was skimmed elsewhere.  This is a legitimate call.

    It turned out it was legit.   I had not updated my MC info so I was behind a payment with Best Buy.
