- AndreaWe might be dealing with a phone number spoofing group, or a group# that's "a front" for pretending to be a real business (perhaps a collections call), if you call back. I called back (with an anonymous number!) and it went to a chiropractic office (supposedly) that's several hours from me in a small town called Paradise, CA. They said they aren't sure what the call would be for to me. ... So, this number is either being spoofed and used by some unsavory outfit, or this chiropractic office accidentally called me. I am thinking it's the former. This is probably some group doing skip-tracing, or it's a wrong number; remember, debt collectors will skip-trace, so keep that in mind. If you are a debtor you might have some collector getting aggressive and using Caller-ID spoofing. Someone in my house does owe a debt, so that could be why I got called. BTW, no voicemail left; called twice within a few minutes. IF you get a stack of calls from this number, you need to contact your attorney ASAP. Especially contact your attorney IF you actually can verify getting calls from an "actual" collector, or "actual" telemarketing firm.

- JonDo NOT answer any calls from this #. Let them leave a voicemail. If it's something important, such as collections, they either cannot find your mailing address - or, are being lazy about it and doing robo-calling first, or instead of. Do NOT give these people ANY information about yourself - not even your first name and do NOT press any digits on your phone during the call. Just don't. If it's endless, you're either very unlucky, or a debtor, etc. The previous poster is correct: you need to speak with an attorney that *specializes* in robo-callers that spoof#s - and if you can confirm somewhere that it's a collector, call a debt and consumer protections attorney - each state has different laws of their own and there are some federal laws, too. Check your credit record. Make sure that nobody stole your ID at any time. Proceed with an abundance of caution with this#/these people and preferably do NOT proceed pro se/propria persona (without an attorney) because you might make matters worse, even if you're not a debtor. This # is a bad, bad #. This isn't just fake magazine sales, or something like that, in my opinion. Calling someone on two different numbers is just one reason to stay away from these people. Bad news.
