I checked my credit card statement and found a charge, supposedly from "Spotify" for $9.99.  This is the number llisted.  I used a reverse lookup in the Yellow Pages and found nothing.  Spotify is a legitimate website for online music.  They must have been hacked.

I recommend filing a fraud dispute with your bank or CC holder and also filing reports with the FTC & CFB..

If you have Spotify charges on your account, and this is the reference number, call your bank and cancel your card, your CC information has been hacked, and this is a scam company.

Got charged $14.99 in April and May  2021 on my credit card, listed as no credit card present via a text message.  How they got my credit card number to begin with?  I don't know.  Even with the a new credit card issued, the charge showed up again.  Charge reads Spotify USA 877-7781161.  Contacted credit card company to report fraud and to permanently block this charge from re occurring.  Didn't want to contact Spotify thru FB, Apple, or other social media.  Citi will issue a new credit card as well as a new Costco membership number.  Very disturbing how this merchant was able to get this charged to the new credit card that I hadn't even used yet.

It is a streaming audio service.  They didn't get the card number, someone signed up for their service using your card number.  Where they got the number is anyone's guess.  Data breach, skimmer at an ATM or Gas Pump, or simply by using computer software to run thousands and thousands of combinations.  Most likely since it was a recurring charge Citi simply moved it over to the new card number.

Yes it has been a recurring charge. I've received 2 Citi Costco replacement cards and the charge followed to the new card, immediately after activation. Citi said the authorized charge should not appear in the next billing cycle and said I didn't need to cancel the credit card. Frustrating, however, I'm reluctant to charge anything with this new credit card.  Citi supposed to stop this "recurring" charge.  I don't know how my credit card got breached to begin with as I only shop at Costco and how these guys got the subsequent 2 newly issued cards.  Bizarre.  Thank you.
