Caller asked for me by name and indicated that he was calling on behalf of (or from a company name on behalf of -- can't remember exactly what was said) the University of Nebraska Alumni Association.    The caller wanted to update my profile information and said it would take about 7 - 8 minutes.   I told him that he didn't need to know my information and to his credit he did politely end the conversation.    Although I don't know because I didn't go through the interview process, I think it is likely that at the end I would have been offered, if not insisted upon, an opportunity to purchase one of the yearbook type packages.    That seems to be what happens if you respond to one of their postcards requesting that you call them to update your alumni profile rather than them calling you, anyway.

I actually responded to one of this company's many inquiries and gave them my information before I realized that they are not affiliated with a university, but they create "yearbooks" to sell. I ended up opting out of the yearbook. The person I spoke with was very professional and did not try to do a hard sell on me, but I didn't want their product, nor did I want my information being disseminated publicly. But then I received another call today. It is time to block them.
