said they were with Barnes & Associates trying to inform R Chambers of action being taken in Baldwin County gave a reference number

So I received voicemail from  423-414-3361 stating that her name was Miss Graham from Barnes and Associates and to call 877-792-1567 leaving a reference number “on behalf of a notice of action from Collins county TX due to no contact” and said “You have been served”. I called and they proceeded to say that I had a debt from 2012 of 4,000$ From a hospital bill in an entirely different state. And they said that if I didn’t pay that I would have my checks garnished or my taxes taken.

Doesn’t make sense or add up at all !! Most definitely a scam

Yep, definitely a scam! 1, you can't be served over the phone. 2, real process servers don't call in advance. 3, your wages can't be garnished without you being taken to court.

They also contacted my brother from another state looking for me … with a completely different call back number and reference ID

"Kelly Price" called, gave a reference number, stated from "Barnes and Associates", regarding a "pending action"... would not give specifics just insisted to call back at 877-792-1567.

Debt scammer. There are about a dozen of these - Just like yours - reported this morning from overnight. All from different numbers.  A voice on the phone is NOT legal notice of a debt. Ignore the call, block the number and never call these crooks back.

Medical debt collection scum. They buy old medical debt that is LIKELY out of the statute of limitations to actually be perused. They will try to scare you in to paying ANYTHING so the debt is reopened. Had a company try it on me a few months ago for debt that was almost 10 years old. Talked to a lawyer that explained their tactics to me. If you pay anything, even one cent or AGREE to pay on a recorded line they can use that to re open the debt and then pursue it.

This group is now trying to contact my wife- using her maiden name even though we have been married for almost 8 years. Any REAL legal office would at least have your current real legal name. It’s a scam. Block and ignore they will get bored.

I just received call from Kelly Price from Barnes & Associates today. Saying I owed on a old credit card bill from 1999.

They call out my offices for cannot check it. Both cel.
