Well I called back and asked which Sheriff dept and Mr. Anderson was a bit tongue tied and then asked what process server and he could not tell me he said they dont work for him. Well I said your company hired them! I repeatedly asked for thier address and he refused to give it to me! well after me calling him back about 8 times one right after another well after they kept hanging up on me, finally I got someone who I did not recognize because they claim it is a office with a few businesses but the main one RPA she gave me an Address of 23331 Canyon Hills Rd. #1709-425 Lake Elsinore, CA 92532 Not sure if it is correct or it is bogus but this is the address she gave me I pretended I didn't know who I was calling and asked for the address and asked who was at this business! Hope this helps. Can anyone tell me who to report them to and how because they are calling my work!

I just got a call at my office - I work for a law firm - claiming they were sending a sheriff's deputy out to serve me, when my boss (an attorney) questioned them, they said they couldn't give me any information but gave me an 800 number to call.  They told me I had one hour to comply.  I called the 800 number and found out it was for a debt that went way beyond the statute of limitations.  My boss told me to ignore them and we would file a complaint if they persisted.  I then *69 ed the number that had originally called looking to speak with my boss - it was  a collections law firm, not a process server like they had claimed.  #1 - It is against the law for them to lie about who they are.  #2  - I went on line and there has been no "summons" filed with the local clerk of court - another lie.  These people specialize in looking up very very old debt and trying to intimidate people into giving them information or scaring them into paying them directly.  If they were legitimate, you would receive some sort of letter in the mail first.

Same here Glo - I just filed an online complaint with my state's Attorney General office, but I am not sure if there is anything they can do, because it is an out of state business.  I looked up the address that you posted and of course it is one of those Mail Box Etc or Postal Net, where you just rent a box!  I also work for an attorney and former State Senator - so I will let you know how this thing pans out....I actually told them to go ahead and serve me and stop calling!

This address validated in google mapsand google earth.....guess what!!!  It is to a local Baskin Robbins.
Why would a company that is a legal department send me the address to baskin robbins?

I asked for their address....they did not give me the company name...only the address.

They are now using a new number that has the same address attached to it....same group of people.

This is one of many front names used by the Corona Scam.

They have over 50 names, with many more phone numbers which you can find through 800notes, and use mail drops in various UPS Stores in the Corona, Lake Elsinore, and surrounding area.

They operate out of boiler rooms in Corona CA, making fake "process server" calls to relatives to pretend they are "suing".  They also pretend to be "deputies", or "with the county", even threatening arrest, all to get you to call back in a panic about this "lawsuit".   When you call back, you will be connected with one of the "closers", also operating out of the same boiler room, who will try to convince you to "settle" thiis alleged "debt", using threats of a "lawsuit", even claiming they can add on thousands in "court or attorney fees", so their "settlement" sounds like a good deal.

If you are called, check your credit reports, particularly Experian.  You will probably find a credit inquiry a couple days before the calls started.  From your own credit report they can get information on old accounts, which can be used to fake some "debt" that might sound like an old account.

If you are receiving their calls, contact the FTC, as they are under investigation.

    Wise Enough to Know Better
I just received one of these calls on my answering machine today from the phone # 888-490-3317. When I used a reverse directory to find out the companies name ANYWHO couldn't find them- imagine that! I was called by a "Michael Garcia" from "process service division. I'm trying to reach (our names) in reference to your complaint that was just forwarded to my office" he goes on to say, "and is out for service trying to be served at the property address of: ---------, if (our names) needs to discuss the possible pending action being filed in this complaint or to make any necessary changes to have the summons served is listed as 888-490-3317" and goes on to leave a "case number".

So to have some fun I called the number: The guy answers the phone as "corporate office", so I ask what company's corporate office am I reaching? He tells me "American RPG", so I ask him what the RPG stands for? He says, "it doesn't stand for anything", in an irritated voice, but trying to lower his tone so as to sound scarry. So I just say, "Oh", so what is your name? He snaps back, "do you have a case number"? So I just go back and say again, "what did you say your name is"? So he gets even more ticked. He answers, "Mam, are you going to give me your case number or not, I have other cases to work on and don't have the time". So I just tell him, "no, so I guess I'll see ya"! and I hung up on him.

I have the original call recorded so I am going to contact the FBI, and I have already called my Secretary of State's Office. She told me that they are a SCAM outfit tied to pay day loan places, and they call to harass and try to scare people into giving them money. She said she gets complaints about them all the time, and that they are best dealt with by hanging up on them every time they call- she said they eventually get the message. She said the states have a hard time tracing the 800 numbers and they are made from outside the state that the "victim" lives in, so she said the FBI is involved. I feel sorry for old people who don't know any better than to believe their B.S.

This is the same address they (finally) gave me after being transferred around.  They are also using the phone number 951-471-6622.   DO NOT give them any info.  When I googled it, it led me to a Western Union office.  I called "American RPA" back and told them this,  Ricky Taylor insisted his office is not a Western Union office.   Why can't these ignorant scammers be stopped?

I got a call from a Joshua Burke from this number. Intially the call was private. they said they had a summons for court for a debt i owed. I told them they never sent me any papers in the mail, they said they sent it 45 days ago and that they were taking me to court. I told them i wanted to settle on the account and to send the settlement papers. They said they couldnt send them again but they could send them to my email I said okay and that we would schedule a date for me to pay once i recieved the email. they sent it, and it had an address on it 29991 canyon hills rd. lake elsinore, california. I googled the address and it said it was a cleaners. I called the number and the person confirmed they were still there at the address. ITS A TOTAL SCAM. BE CAREFUL ALL THOSE THAT RECIEVE CALLS WITH THESE KINDS OF CLAIMS. ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH.

I was scammed today. I was told I was being servered a summons. My work called me and said a legal office had been asking for me. I called and thought it was on the up and up and arranged payment through my cc. They said they would stop the summons from being served and I arranged to make 3 payments. As I put the phone down I knew something was wrong. I am concerned because they have my SS#. I deactivated my cc so this scam fell short. Please if anyone has any info on how they handled their situation, I would appreciate it.

They usually start with "process server" calls to a relative or employer, as part of pretending to be "suing".  The relative is often reported to be in another state, or even across the country, even though they routinely pull credit reports and would have your current location.

Pull your credit reports, and you will probably find a recent inquiry from this scam, possibly under a different name, and usually within a couple days of the first threatening call.  Access to consumer credit reports allows them to size up their victims, and to obtain information on some old account so they can pretend you owe it to them.

They want to panic you by this threatened "lawsuit" so you "settle" without any proof you even owe them anything.

They are currently using over 50 different names, to hide the size of their operation, but they generally use mail drops in the Corona/Lake Elsinore area, often at UPS Stores.

    FTC is currently investigating them.

    Creeped out
So, my mom gets this call from a process server today, then her EX husband gets a call saying they are the fbi looking for her and that was the address and number she had for her. She has never lived at that address or used that number. Then tonight my husband ran to the store and within a few minutes an unmarked "work van type" pulled up and the man came to my door with a "free offer for my time" it was a can of febreeze and he had no product, no booklets, no business cards, or anything!!. I had stepped out and closed the door behind me because of my dogs so at least I was on the porch. I told them I was working online and went back inside. Oh, and they didnt go to my neighbors!  Going to file complaint tomorrow. Watch out for these people.

I just recevied a call from a "blocked" caller saying I have been summons to court. But I have never receieved anything in the mail or heard anything about it now. The guy gave me the 877-801-7940 number and then a case # and told me I needed to ask for the Legal department when I called. After reading everyones pose should I call or just ignore this? Since the number was blocked i can't call that number back but I was so surprised I just took the number and case number down and didn't ask many questions.... just wondering what to do???
