This is a credit card processing company called Pay Anywhere - parent company is North American Bancard.  They have a pretty bad reputation.  We had to call for a merchant of mine to find out why she was all of the sudden getting hit for a $3.99 inactivity fee for a merchant account she never used that was dead for over 3 years.

I can confirm this. Apparently they are charging a $3.99 inactivity fee from when I signed up two years ago. I do remember signing up but I never used their services. I haven't tried getting the fee refunded yet.... We will see how that goes. Apparently their customer service is terrible and with a quick search there was no way for me to cancel it online.

I'm the treasurer of a non-profit group. The same 3.99 charge showed up at the end of December 2015.  I went to our bank and we called the number together. After several long bouts of "on hold" music we spoke to someone that wouldn't help us other than saying we had signed up for a service and since we didn't use it there was a $3.99 monthly charge.  They refused to close the account or refund the fee. They wanted me to take a survey and supply them with more data which I declined to do fearing additional phishing. We never signed up for anything and they couldn't prove it. I have no idea how they got our information. The only recourse we had was to close my checking account and re-open it with a new number.  My bank was kind enough to credit the fee.

Thanks for the information.  I just checked our checking account as I'm a treasurer for a nonprofit as well.  We have the 3.99 charge on December 24th to our account.  I'm calling tomorrow as its the weekend, but afraid I may have to close our account as well.

This is, in fact, Pay Anywhere - they operate a SCAM! I encourage anyone who has received this charge to report it to the BBB as well as the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Reserve... I was able to call them and have my account closed.

Again with the "report them to the BBB” a toothless organization with no law enforcement powers that exists solely to charge business owners money for good ratings.

The proper place to report them would be:
    http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I just called and no issues to cancel. Took about 2 minutes of hold music for someone to answer then she just verified my account by using the telephone number I originally registered and last 4 of my SSN. She pulled up my name, gave me a ticket #, and closed the account. I didn't have to do a survey, just verify who I was to close my account. I also hadn't used the account in a couple of years and forgot I even had it open.

I just got off the phone with my bank and they put a stop payment on it and reversed the charges.  I had noticed this coming out of my account the past two months and didn't know what it was.  The guy at my bank didn't know what it was either.  My bank gave me this phone number 877-804-4556 to call them myself and when I called, no one answered and I wasn't able to leave a message.  What the heck is this???

Reading these responses, I thought I should warn everyone who is under the misconception that by calling this company, that you will get any refunds or that they will stop charging your bank account the $3.99 fee.  I have been charged over $60 in the past 6 months,  I have called THREE times to have the "account" closed.  Each time I get a friendly person who tells me everything I want to hear... we've closed the account, there was an error in your email address, we have submitted this to finance but it may take a while, blah blah blah.  To date they haven't stopped charging and there's been no refund.  My bank isn't so kind, they won't stop the charges and my only option is to close the account.  But if I close the account, my pending refund (I say laughing) will never come into the account.  So...  don't believe them when you call and ask them to close the account.  Pay attention to your account for future charges.

Was helping a local non-profit with which I volunteer.  got a pay anywhere cedit card processing app for a craft show, but this was SEVERAL years ago.  Supposedly I received an email notification telling me about the $3.99 charge for no activity in 12 months.  They took my name - found the organization name I registered for - last 4 of my social and closed the account.  I was short with my voice in the beginning, but they were very nice and professional.  Should I need another mobile pay service, I will consider using them
