it was a call to my cell phone.

Did not answer but caller requested a return call via my answering machine message re: debt collection ... I owe no one any $$

Scam !

Caller attempted to verify my name then verify a decade old address. Terminated call. Called back with blocked ID and a IVR states TG and extention listing or wait for agent.. Who knows. Who cares.

This place called my cell phone saying his name was Mike from Texas Guarantee. From what I can google, this is a company that does student loans. He said he is a collection agent....but I don't have any student loans from Texas Guarantee so I have no idea who this company is!!! What's funny, he called me 2 hours ago and I called the number---it said they were closed for the holiday. I'm calling SCAM!!!

Caller from (877)812-0299 identified herself as Jen from Debt Collections (no specific agency nor name of individual to whom the call was directed...therefore classified call as a scam (phishing) call). Request (877)812-0299 to remove my name and number from its entity - specific calling list and Do Not Call me.

They left me a message saying they were a debt collector. I have never had debt in my life.

This is a legit company, they work with Dept of Education to help borrowers out of default so wages and treasury offset do not occur, if you have a defaulted student loan you should take this call

They might be a legit company, but definitely not legal. My loan payment is due today and they called me--don't think so. I don't have ANY loans from them--they are with a different company.

This is a legit company, they work with Dept of Education

Um i notice someone is trying to make them seem legit "T", but a student debt collector would have my correct last name.

For the people claiming this is a scam, I'm disappointed in your ability to sniff out actual scams.  Your lives must be difficult assuming every "unusual" number that calls you is a scam.  Texas Guaranteed is the company that is contacting you.  This division of TG works as a contractor for ACT (Account Control Technology) who you likely have business with.  If you don't have any student loans that may be in default, then let me educate you on SKIP TRACING.  Skip tracing is what companies do in an effort to locate demographic information for customers they can not locate.  MANY times the information they receive is invalid and simply a wrong number (no need to freak out people).
p.s.  Just because a company has a state in their name DOES NOT mean they only conduct business in said state.  Think people who have New York Life Insurance only live in New York?

Keeps calling me but leaves no message. I owe no one money. To those who say answer the call, do you work there? What interest do you have to tell strangers to answer a collections call? Why search the number to find this post if the number isn't calling you?

In my opinion these slime balls living in their Mothers basement in INDIA ? call and leave a message about student debts of which I have none because they don't have a life and choose to bother me with their crazy calls.

They're in Texas, not India.  RM, you keep flipping burgers for your income and they'll keep calling delinquent customers for theirs.  It's a job.  It's not personal.  Remember that the next time you're courageous enough to answer a call.

9:33pm  phone showed they called 7 minutes before and I tried calling back to see wtf they were calling me for after reading these posts and recording says they closed at either 6 or 8??? Then how did they call me if already closed? Why did it only light up for a second?

Got a call, didn't answer it.  Don't have any student loans and children loans are up to date on payments.
I check out Texas Guarantee and Federal student loans both have been hacked for data.  So i wouldn't trust a caller. If you have a loan check with your loan company and make sure it is pay or make arrangements.
