- AngieI just got off the phone with a call from this company. I almost gave them my information and decided to check it out. Told them I wanted to call the company they say I owe the bill to and verify it. It seemed very concered about me doing that and said he would email something proving it and that I didnt need to call them. I googled it, and this website is what poped up first. Very scary!! I wonder how many people this happens too!

- natalie replies to rosa| 3 repliesYeah, did they end up coming to your work or home? I just got a call from them too. I didn't pick up because it was a private caller id. This guy name Mark Haynes left me a message saying that he is calling me regarding some paperwork that he received in his office today under my name and social security number. He said he is scheduled to come serve me the notice and papers regarding the pending claim that was filed against me. He said he wanted to provide a courtesy call to inform me that I was put on his schedule for service. And then he left me this number if i had any questions regarding the cliam: 877-812-1761. What do I do? Is this legit? or is it a Scam? Can someone tell me?
- Nicole| 7 repliesYou people who posted dumb comments on here are complete [removed:lang]. Yes what they are saying is legal. If you owe a debt you must pay it back bottom line. Just because your broke, on disability doesn't exempt you from your financial responsibilities. When a person or persons sue you over anything how do you expect to get notified ??? A rock falls out of the sky and says hey you, dumb ass you have court today cause your a scumbag??? As far as Vicki who posted a comment you [removed:lang]. How are they threating you over a DEBT you claim they wouldn't verify or give you any information?? Sounds to me that your a compulsive liar and know your a scumbag who owes companies money. Why don't you get off your [***] get a job and pay your bills like the rest of the people who have class??!! You low class [removed:lang]. You deserve to have [removed:lang] credit forever and die in your [removed:lang] trailer park you live in. Any body else needs advice just ask me. Have a great summer you [removed:lang].
- Caller: Taxpayer who pays their bills!!!
- markNicole: I got this same message and I am one of those people who has a job and pays his bills on time etc. I have been receiving calls like this for awhile and am tired of it. I tend to believe this is a scam and if some "person" does show up to serve me at my place of employment they will be met by State Troopers. these type of people need to be dealt with and eliminated from doing business.

- Resident47 replies to Nicole| 2 repliesPlease can we stop the beating kettle drums of the "Pay Youse Bills" crowd and listen to the actual unlawful melody.
Threats of police and lawyer action by a debt collector are serious violations of the FDCPA, indicating in almost every case a desperado with ZERO proof of claim. The only "compulsive liars" work for these self-righteous dope-addicted criminals bullying from behind an office cubicle. These debt accounts do not exist! I'll bet next month's pay on it .... and yes, I do work for a living, before you come back with that old "welfare prostie" canard you industry apologists use when the fetid flesh of this horrendous business model is torn open.
If any of you can secure a valid US address for this collection agency, document everything said and done and file suit! Serve a *real* summons on these extortionists as the law permits.

- dj gal| 1 replyGot a call from James Williams. CLaims he is going to come to my home or business on Friday. If I would have answered the phone, I would have told him to come on out, I'll have the coffee on. this is nonsense, these tactics are illegal. I pay my bills and if there is something out there that I don't know that I owe, if it comes from a reputable company then I'll pay it. But I'm NOT going to be threatened by some dirtbag sitting in a cubicle harrassing people. If he shows up, I will call the authorities and have him removed from my property. Seriously, if someone is going to sue you, it will go thru the proper steps of your county court system and you will be served by your local sherriff. So James......come on over, I dare ya!

- Teniele| 1 replyI received a call today from 877-812-1761. The call was private but the guy left a voicemail with his number. He said that he has me on his schedule to be serviced on 6/24/11. And said that he has a claim the has been filed against me under my name and my SSN. I haven't called him back and I won't. First of all, today is their lucky day. I work for an attorney's office myself. And by law you cannot leave all of that info on someone's voicemail. The only thing you can leave is your name, company you represent, the name of the person you're trying to reach, and you're call back number. I know I do not owe anyone. But if I did, then I would be one happy girl. Because that voicemail violating the FDCPA just made the debt null and void. Also, let's me realistic about this. Why in the world would you call someone and notify them of the exact date and time that you're going to serve them? Hello stupid! If they do owe a debt or have done anything that they know they might be getting sued for, then they just won't be at home or if it's serious enough they'll just skip town. That's like calling a criminal and letting them know that they've been charged with a crime and you'll be out to their home on a specific date to arrest them. What idiot will actually be at home. So that's another thing that just gave them away. Also, the guy who left the voicemail said I had a claim against be for falsifying my place of employment and my residence. Ok soooo, then how do you know where to serve me? Also, I've worked for plenty of loan companies too. There would be no way to falsify that info because they verify that stuff. Whether it be by calling or with a check stub or piece of mail or something. I just think it's hilarious that they actually called someone who works for an attorney and they don't even realize it. LOL. So you can bet you're butt I saved the voicemail. Working for an attorney has its perks. It's called pro bono!!
