- DPThese guys have called my cell phone and home phone while I'm working, of course I didn't answer due to it being restrictived and I never answer numbers I'm not familiar with. I have no idea why they are calling me? I sold a business over 4 yrs ago and all responsibility went with the company. Maybe they should call the company that they have the issue with since there are new owners for the last 4 yrs and leave me and my personal life alone, it's called harassment ! This company needs to get the info straight before they start calling people. No professional at all, very shady.

- Credit Manager replies to sothernmomma| 1 replyJust inform them they have made many violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. First, they're lying. They cannot garnish wages without 1st receiving a judgment in court. Disability cannot be garnished. If they told your mother it was a collection call, yup another violation. If the debt is only in your husband's, telling you is another violation.
BBB will do little. First, tell them under FDCPA you have the right to demand they made no further contact either by phone or mail. They can still sue your husband. If they call again, contact your state's Attorney General's office. - Credit Manager replies to ClarificationYou really need to study the laws a little more. There are still laws for commercial collections. Calling relatives of a debt is definitely one of them.
- Credit Manager replies to RJAJust received a message from one of your RJA Reps. trying to get my company's business. His message was "I'm calling in regards to some invoices owed to your company". Because of the way he left the message, I thought it was one of our 10,000 plus customers. Wasted my time looking for the account, before calling my "customer" back. Even before reading the comments here, I would NEVER use your company.
- henry kaplan replies to ClarificationWhat a bunch of [***]! Glad the Feds are finally cracking down on illegal debt collecting techniques. Good bye RJA, you're next

- Maria C. replies to RJAI beg to differ on your response. I just received a call from someone, possibly wanting to secure our business. The caller ID was listed as "private caller," red flag #1, which I will never answer. In addition, the message I received was from ext. 124 asking for me to call them back, without leaving even a hint as to what the call is about - red flag #2. If someone leaves a brief message asking me simply to call them back, it won't happen, at least not without know what the call is about. If your company is trying to get our business, it won't succeed simply because of the lack of transparency in the calls that you make.
- SH| 2 repliesWe hired them to collect debts and although they did a good job on 1, when I was forwarded a copy of the check showing they were able to collect it was made out to OUR company and OUR address. Week later, I get an email stating the check had cleared and our funds are on the way. I ask HOW can you cash a check made and addressed to us? I tell the customer I sold the debt to help them collect and they are able to get our mail and cash a check made out to us?? Brad from Richard James called me, yelled and called me a "[***]" before hanging up on me. According to his emails they are allowed to cash checks made out to us, NO!!! You should have had that check made out to YOU! And how did you get our mail?? "He don't know". Never use them. Talk about rude, I ask a good question and get yelled at and hung up on for it? Tried to contact someone in management to complain on him, the emails come back.

- Rick F. replies to SH| 1 replySharon I'm confused you're mad at us for doing a good job? First let me address the check issue, we have the debtors send us the checks either made out to you or us whichever they prefer. The check is deposited into our Trust account as REQUIRED BY LAW after the check clears we remit your portion to you. When you Attorney told you that we did Nothing wrong you still wrote the above complaint because why? Brad tried to explain it to you but you didn't like his answers to your questions so does that make him rude? Again we did a good job for you, we collected your money and we remitted to you, unlike the agency that took you for 7k, all monies due you. You should be writing about the agency that ripped you off not the agency that collected your money for you. We also tried to give you some advice on not giving 14k of credit to companies that work out of their house and who have mail box etc. as the company address but you know best and we're rude! Good luck to you!
Sincerely,
Rick - research people replies to Credit ManagerThe FDCPA does not apply on Commercial debt

- Really? replies to Bill BYou reply to a post that is 3 yrs. old. You imply all posters on this comment thread are "thieves" and/or "gangsters". Smug, aren't we? Scam debt collectors are some of the biggest thieves operating in the US today. Law enforcement has absolutely nothing to do with failure to pay a debt (though plenty of these bottom-feeders insinuate it is a crime to get unsuspecting people to pay up). That is a civil matter, as you know. Go back to mommy's basement and play Mr. Self-righteous elsewhere on your computer.
- BigA replies to Bill B"Thieves & gangsters hate law enforcement." Yes I would imagine that you do. "But keep in mind that if one did not owe money, then one would not be getting calls from a debt collector." Except for the thousands of people that get called everyday by criminal enterprises such as yours that tries to scare and scam extortion money from people, especially the elderly. If you know who your mother is (and I would doubt that), she must be so embarrassed to call you her son.
- MJG replies to Bill BKindly inform us of the "YOU" that you mention in your post and don't be afraid to name names. Otherwise you are just another pathetic example of an ignorant shill.
- TracySomeone on a private line called asking for our A/P department. They were calling about collections. I asked for a phone number and said someone would call them back. The woman on the phone kept asking for a name so they'd know which company was calling. I said someone would call back with our company name. She then asked how they would get paid. I was really confused and refused to give out a name, which is my policy. She thanked me and hung up. My branch has nothing to do with handling payments or debts, but I wasn't going to give her my corporate office's number. The fact that I couldn't even see a number on my caller ID made me think it is a scam.

- WhiskeyReceived a message from Kris Swenson with Richard James and Associates (called from 999-000-3711) explained that he was with a commercial collection company and wanted to do work for my company...
he supposedly tried to reach me through my office switchboard and, as I was away from my desk, the operator would not give him my direct office number or extension number.
So instead he took it upon himself to somehow track down my personal cellphone number and call me on it, which I did not answer since I didn't recognize the number...
Kris wanted me to call him back at 877-816-0242 so I could tell him who did our company's collection work...
I do not appreciate Kris trying to contact me about business on my personal cell... sorry not the way to do business or get new business...- Caller: Richard James and Associates
