Got a call from this number today and they said that I owe money to a payday loan company that I have never heard of.  Looked up this payday loan company and saw that they are a scam.  I asked them to send me a letter stating that I owe this payday loan company money and they said that they can't do that.  I threatened them with a lawyer to get the paperwork, and they said it was too late and that I am being sued and will be going to court. Not sure what to think.

I keep getting the same messages.  Called several times and say they are going to serve me at work.  They have called my co-workers and family members.  It is Coyne Trace Services.  Called the number back and all of the information they have on me is from an account that was closed in 2002.  They are saying this debt is from 2011.  My account was closed in 2002 because someone had accessed funds from my account that I had not authorized.  I asked for them to send me a validation letter for the debt and they say they can't do that.  They can only send me a letter saying I paid the debt.  Not sure what type of scam this is, but not falling for it.  If you're going to get served, they don't call to let you know you're getting served.  They are obviously calling from other numbers as well.  Google search Coyne Trace Services and you will see a long list of complaints.  I will be reporting them to the FTC today.
