They called me and left voice mail messages on my phone.  When I contacted them and requested thier fax number and mailing address for my attorney, they said that they were not allowed to give out that information.  Then when I asked if they were officially refusing to give me their mailing address and fax number she said yes, they were not allowed to give out that information and she asked if I would like to speak with a supervisor.  I said yes and thank you (trying to catch more flies with honey) and she put me on hold.  After a few minutes the line went dead.  Friday I contacted both the DA and Sheriffs office in two counties (due to where I live) and they both stated it was most likely a fishing scam.  Either way it doesnt matter.  The voice mail was left by a Mr. Micheal Reed.  He refered to "Midwest Banking". Well, I contacted Bank Midwest, and they had never heard of them.  Always contact the original creditor to confirm any collection calls.  Bank Midwest also stated it was most likely a fishing scam.  What stinks is that these people are still operating due to the fact that I was able to call them this morning and have that rediculous conversation.  Meeting with my attorney in a few hours to see what we can do to stop them.  It is rediculous that people have to deal with these low life scum.
