03-05-12, I was calling Charter Communications  A woman with a foreign accent (sounded Indian) answered and told me that I was one of the lucky winners of $100 worth of gift cards and all I'd be charged is a  $2.95 processing fee.  Thinking that it WAS Charter, I gave them the information requested.  When I finally got through to Charter, they knew NOTHING about this promotion. Guess I'd better call BBB and my bank.  The number listed on my phone was 888-436-2427.  Charter's number is 888-438-2427.

The number they gave me to call to cancel was 877-817-0164.  When I called that number, I got the usual Customer Service message about being monitored/recorded for quality assurance and that my wait time was estimated to be 30 seconds.  After the 30 seconds, it rang a few times and then gave me a busy signal.  It did this twice.  Then I got a guy named Trey who said the name of the company is "Your Benefits" but he didn't know their physical address (other than that they are in Tampa, FL) and he started turning it around and asking ME questions when I asked for their mailing address.  I did end up giving him my phone number so that he could take me OUT of their system.  I'm supposed to call them back on Wednesday to confirm that.

So I looked up that number and this is what I found:
    Lions den Consulting

I got a random panflet in the mail from them Claiming to Be benefits Services. The adress it gives me for them is 4631 NW 31st Ave, #269 Ft. Laderdale, Fl. 33309-3433. Alegidly I was signed up for an Auto and travel club threw them. I called imidiately and asked them who they were and how they got my information and the guy on the other end said that I gave it to them. Which I didn't. I told him I'm gonna make this phone call really easy for him. Remove me from any service with them. and then hung up.

I received an email stating that I was a lucky winner for a wallmart gift card worth one hundred dollars, I went to their website to see if it was a scam, it did not appear to be a scam so I called the number listed on the site. I spent 30 minutes are more speaking to their representative, the representative ask me for my bank numbers  after convincing me that I was safe and they was legit. he said they needed me to pay for the shipping and handling of the transport, so I did what was asked of me. Now its been four weeks after three different tries to resend the said package, and every time I call I get the same customer service guy. he keeps saying O.K. I'll resend your package but for some mysterious reason I never get it, I ask this guy twice during are last couple of conversations could I speak to someone Higher than him and he goes so what can I do for you. I don't know but I am starting to feel like I have been tricked into giving someone my very personal information. the money that was asked of me for the shipping and handling was took out of my account, but still no package! just called this morning again and the same guy tells me the same thing O.K. will just resend it to you, should get it in five days, (Now I know that's CRAP!!)

Received letter from Benefits Service to cancel call 18778170164.  I called the number 3 times on 4/12:/16, received call back from a lady  claiming to be from magazine co. I explained that I wanted to cancel the travel & Auto club she said her company do not have any dealings with Benefits Service.  She asked what number did give to call back I told her the number that I'm speaking with her.  She goggled the address and came up with the same number.  All she could do is tell her company some co. Is using their number.
