Thank you. I too, just got a call, and upon logging into the TJX Website, I see I also forgot to make a payment at the beginning of the month. Too many dang credit cards, I guess. I went and paid them today. I appreciate your sharing the story. It helped me figure out my problem right away. First collection call of my life LOL. - RobTJ Max/Marshall Credit card calling to get their payment. it's confusing 'cause they say they are from Sychrony Bank. Weirdest bank name ever! Unfortunately they are a legit call; forgot to make payment to this credit card the wife made me apply just to get a discount at the store. Darn wife!
- Caller: Sychrony

- Wayn LutzHave received 3 calls from this number today on my husbands phone. We are on the do not call list and it is getting very annoying. We will not answer calls like this so don't know who they are.
- DeegThis is a legitimate call - I get them if I'm past due on my TJMaxx credit card. The calls stop once it is paid, so just pay the bill and you won't have to be annoyed!
- Caller: Synchrony Bank/TJMaxx Rewards Credit Card
- Call type: Debt collector
- LWThis *is* a legit robo call. I kept getting this call to my cell. Called the TJX Rewards customer service who had no record of my cell or me, but the 877-822-2015 is the legit collections for TJX and i called (the menu options and recording sound pretty much exactly the same as the direct TJX customer service 800 # but it's collections.) I gave them my cell # and they said they have a match and told me the name which was a person i had no knowledge of. They take your recorded statement as such and remove your name from the collection call. I didn't have to give them my name, SS, nothing. Obviously someone with a delinquent TJX card lied about their cell phone # or there was a digit typo somewhere along the line and it turned into my #.

- Annie B-54They started calling me from a different # about 9 months ago, & then, bordering on harassment, & me never picking up the phone, changed their # to this 2015#. The # of calls bordered on harassment! After I blocked that first #, they began calling me from this 2015#. What a pain in the arce. When I finally l listened to their entire msg, they actually said that IF I WANT THESE CALLS TO STOP, I NEED TO CALL THEM BACK & LEAVE MY SSN & THAT WOULD GIVE THEM THE INFO & PERMISSION THAT THEY NEED TO STOP THEIR CALLING. WHAT A SCAM!
Something has to be done & reported to whatever government people have the power to stop this criminal activity. Can you imagine how much success these scammers must be having especially w/the elderly, who may be more trusting than most?

Please excuse any typos. I'm writing from my phone. Grammer mistakes? I was up all night & I'm writing w/a very fuzzy brain! 😊- Caller: TJX Credit card & 1 or 2 others.

- BigA replies to John-of-Lower-MerionI know this is an old post, but I feel there are certain things in your post that need to be corrected. First, the BBB lists this number as TJ Maxx. http://www.bbb.org/atlanta/business-reviews/c ... nta-ga-27437990 Now TJMaxx credit cards are issued by Synchrony Bank, which used to be GE. So from what you posted, it appears that the call is about a credit card, most likely a collection call. But let's assume for the moment it isn't. Since the DNC was started to stop telemarketing calls, i.e. those calls trying to sell you something (note the key word there is sell), what would the be selling you? A credit card? So, let's move on to debt collection. No law could state that a company cannot call you to collect money you might owe them. That would put every company in America out of business. Now are they calling you in error. Possibly, but the way to handle it is to send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. What the Do Not Call lists covers and doesn’t cover and why: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0108-national-do-not-call-registry
Now, lets move on to that urban myth, that calling them back "would result in an instant "business relationship" ". Did you happen to notice that I called it an urban myth? Because it is and calling them back does not make a business relationship.
Perhaps you should do some reading and learn what you need to know and report any future calls. The CFPB will contact them and help straighten the matter out, and if not, then you have the right to sue them and make them pay you for the harassment.
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Anon replies to MargaretIt's NOT a scam. It's TJX Rewards Platinum Master Card calling about a debt. If you don't have a TJX Master Card, then file a complaint with your state Office of Attorney General, Consumer Protection for them calling a wrong number.
- Anon replies to Margaret| 1 replyIt's NOT a scam. Stop posting bogus information on this site. It's a legitimate debt collection call.
