Not sure who these people are, something about being summoned. Over the phone? Really?

I keep receiving phone calls from Hunter and Associates.  They say I owe a pay day loan.  I asked them how much it is and they won't tell me.  I paid a pay day loan through Western Union as they had requested me to do @ 2 years ago.  Around 6 months later they started back calling me for the payment.  I couldn't find the Western Union receipts, so I paid them again through my checking account.  I requested they send me a letter with their letterhead on it stating that they received the payment.  They sent the letter via email.   Now, I am getting calls from 877-822-6407 saying I owe for a bad check and I have 24 hours to pay them.  What the hell?  The devil is a liar and there is no truth in him.  I pray that they leave me alone.  I rebuke you satan and I come against you and your imps with the power and the authority that God has given me.  I don't have time for this.

I received several calls from this phone number. leaving a recorded message. The message stated that there was a criminal case against me for some sort of bad check. I have never written a bad check in my life, but when I did return the phone call- I was told that if I could settle this situation today, it would only cost me $495.00 If I did not do something today or I contacted legal advise the situation could not be resolved and a warrant for my arrest would be issued Fri- 08/06/2010 for criminal activity. I called the prosecuting attorney, and was told that my husband or me were totally fine. Nothing showing for anything.
I did have an attorney call this number and within 1 hr I received a phone call from this number and the gentlemen told me he was dropping the case, he was not going to call my attorney, and my file would be closed. Really fast negotiations on their part, 1 or 2 days, I was suppose to go to jail or pay the money, and all of a sudden the case is dropped.
Beware, the gentlemen told me he also had my banking info and he would draft the amount right out of my account. On the last conversation, he told me that the payment would not go through, but just to be on the safe side, I should contact my bank and put a stop payment on this check that was suppose to have already gone through.
I called there bluff, contacted an attorney- and hopefully that is the end.
This ordeal is scary, but they do NOT put someone in jail over the phone.

Total scammers,, beware.. this number showed up on a "letter addressed from Consumer Center Reasearch, 28 west 44th street in NY. They send you a $2400 check and ask to to participate in aWestern Union evaluation. Do not believe it! hundreds of people have been scammed out of money. These [***] need to go to prison

Thanks for the feedback. They just contacted me 2 times within 3 years. The first time they contacted me, the first check was taken by a currency exchange, but they didn't press criminal charges against me because they knew that it was the scammers' fault. Beware of this company. It was scary on both situations. They change their name every so often so that you won't find out that its the same scammers using different fake company names. They make websites and take professional pictures of themselves to look legit, but their a nightmare. They try to look legit by having wells fargo printed on a illegit check. They also have the nerve to put a survey on the back of the fake letter to make it look like its a legit letter and survey.
