- John| 1 replyI got an email with this number to call HSBC
- Caller: HSBC
- Doug| 3 repliesThis is one of the numbers used by HSBC, most often for me it's HSBC Security, which is just doing some fraud prevention stuff. For some reason they don't put this number of their website, so you have no way to tell it's them, and not someone fishing. Idiots. So much for having streamlined and trustworthy security.
- Caller: HSBC
- Employee X replies to Doug| 2 repliesAs an employee of 'The World's Local Bank', I can confirm that this phone number does not belong to HSBC. Let's keep the name calling to confirmed stupidity, you know what assuming does.
- Puffin| 1 replyThey keep calling me over and over again, every day for the last 2 weeks. They are NOT HSBC, please do not give them your personal info!
- Caller: 1-877-826-8751
- Puffin replies to JohnThat email is not a real email from HSBC - do not reply or call them back.
- Ame replies to PuffinActually, it is a real number. I called HSBC's main number and they transferred me to the exact guy who left the message. And it was to verify an address change, so they didn't get any key information of me.
- PurohitI just got a call from them too. I verified with HSBC that it was their team calling me to verify and not some scam. So it is a real no. I was worried after reading all the posts. But I rechecked by calling hsbc on their direct line.
- Caller: HSBC
- Miguel SanchezI also received a call from HSBC about an address change that I had requested. They had me call back 1-877-826-8751 with a reference number. The guy sounded a bit odd which is how I ended up reading the above posts about a scam.
This appears to be a legitimate HSBC number.
When in doubt, call the main HSBC line and ask to be transferred. It takes longer but is more secure.- Caller: HSBC
- CURR EMP WHO WORK W/SECURITY replies to Employee XThat is a legit number from HSBC. I currently work in that department and I give out that same number. When it doubt call the number on the back of your card or your relationship manager and have them forward you to the security department and ask for the number. Employe X has no idea what he or she is talking about lol
- Alyssa| 1 replyI received a message from HSBC asking me to call this number. Since I was dealing with a fraud case, of course I was suspicious if this was legit. So I called the HSBC customer service number (the cust. serv. number is on the back of my card with them). And they were able to confirm that this number is for HSBC and it is legit. ....I really wish others on here hadn't put that it wasn't before checking, it freaked me out, and will probably continue to freak out others.
- Mathew replies to Employee XNope this is an HSBC phone number and as the original poster said it is another reason HSBC is stupid. They have also told me to call a number and given a phone number which they tell me I can verify on the back of my debit card but of course they two phone numbers don't match. Never dealt with worse customer service.
- MCThey call or ask you to call this number if your account has been locked or other security issues like address change, etc.
- Caller: HSBC Security Team
- D replies to Alyssawell you guys should be careful because although the number "checks out" they can use the HSBC number to call you regardless, learned my lesson the hard way
- PUnless HSBC uses voice nation for a provider it not them also when checked number it usually give me a zip code , state, and provider which it don’t so be cautious of this number ! I blocked it
