Calls daily asking for fiance and never says what company or who they are

Citibank calling on behalf of another credit card they own

Have called 8 times today, a Sunday, starting at 7 a.m.  The first few calls, they left a message asking for "Joan"...and no such person lives here.  Since I blocked the number after the first few calls, their calls go directly to voicemail.  Some voicemails are empty, on some there is simply, "Hello...hello?" left.  Very annoying.

They call at least ten times a day including on the Sabbath Days. We do not answer calls that come across as unknown, private or toll free and answer only calls of people that we know.

Averages 10 calls a day, including Sunday!  Never leaves a message

Called 8:27 am, 11:31 am, 2:33 pm and 5:45 pm on 1/24, left no message in all cases.

They left a message that they were calling from Citibank about a Best Buy card and wished to discuss an account. Sounded legit enough, until the number they left on the voicemail didn't match what showed up on the caller ID I would say on a scale of 1 Safe - 10 Straight Up Terrorism, it was about a 6.5 Super Sketchy. Don't answer these 800service calls. Let the machine get it. If it's important they will leave a message and you can check up on it from there. If you own the card they are referring to, the 800# is always on the back of the card. If they don't match, SCAM!

Callers often call from a different number because the calling department is different than the collections department so they have different numbers.  that's why when they leave a message they leave the number for you to call.   They can't leave any identifiable information in a message because it violates their privacy guidelines.  So they most they will do is leave a first and/or last name and a phone number to call back.
These callers are legit because I have a Citibank Best Buy card that is overdue and they call me every day.

Previous comment says legit from citibank, however I have a citibank card that I have some autopay on, I have zero balance every month, so no reason for them to be calling, unless trying to sign me up for something. I don't answer, they don't leave messages.

The number may or may not be 'legit', the problem is even legit numbers are spoofed by scammers.  In the same thread you might see reports on 'good' calls and scam calls.

No message left argues strongly for the calls being scammers. The way to make sure is to call Citibank on a number you KNOW is correct and ask them if they have been trying to reach you or if they are doing marketing calls from this number.  If you can post back what you find out, that might be helpful to others.

Called today at 8:32 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:43 PM (on a Sunday for crying out loud!), no message left.

Actually, they did leave a message at 11:30 AM- something about a Best Buy Citibank card (my sister has one) account that needed to be reviewed. Left an 855 number to call back. I think it's for credit card issues.

Why would they be calling you about your sister's credit card?

They're calling our home number, not my sister's cell number.

Called yesterday at 8:53 AM, 11:54 AM, 2:55 PM and 5:56 PM, left no message. I believe this is a scam.

Called today at 8:09 AM and 11:10 AM; left a message that stated: ...we know you're busy but if you could please just take a few minutes to log in at www.bestbuy.accountonline.com to review your Best Buy account status it would be appreciated. If you prefer to call us, feel free to as it's always great to get a chance to speak with one of our valued clients. Our toll-free number is 1-855-242-6899. Once again thanks for being a valued Citibank customer…” The message made no mention of who it was for.

Called again on 3/28 at 2:12 PM and 5:18PM, left no message.

Called today at 8:06 AM and 10:42 AM; left a message, same as above, except it was a lady talking.
