- AlmostScammed| 2 repliesYes I do refer to my story below:
Wow, I just got off the phone with the 571-261-0102 representative. He totally laid the sales pitch on me. In hind sight the first clue that this is a scam should have been when he asked for my name...if your truely a winner of a drawing, then they should already know your name. Anyway,he tried to get me to get me to reserve tickets for $88 per person with a minimum of two. He gave me the whole, "you can decide which cruise within the next 18 months bit". I was entertaining the idea up until he told me that he wanted to transfer me to another representative to get my credit card information to reserve my room on the ship. At that point I felt that I needed some time to think so I asked him if I could speak with my wife first before going any further. He actually agreed but encouraged me to call him back within the next 24 minutes because the promotion in total is only open for a half hour. He gave the following call back number 1-877-842-0341 ext 458 and said his name was Jack. So I get off the phone with him and immediately jump on the internet to see if this is a scam and sure enough it is. Everyone, please be careful, this person called me on my cell phone, so don't think that just because you have a cell phone, you wont get scammed. I was so close to loosing $88 a person on this scam, but thanks to these posts did not. Thank you for your posts. - MyRP replies to AlmostScammedThanks for posting this info. We just rcvd and call and will NOT be calling them back with our info....Thanks again!
- ALMOST SCAMMED 2I had the exact same call...
I almost gave him my information but something told me to tell him that I would call him back... He said his name was "Wellington" and I asked him how he got my information and he said "Did you go on a cruise before" and I said "Four years ago" and he said "That's how I have your information" he explained how the economy is bad and cruise lines are having problems getting people to go on cruise and the way the cruise line was making money was by us getting food, drinks, or if we gambled on the cruise...I mean he had me wanting to spend 88 dollars. I am so thankful I didn't do it! - CI had the same exact call. Called my cell phone, when I asked which contest i entered and won, I was told that if I had looked up any travel information on the internet, rooms, rentals, air fares, etc. I had been automatically emtered. His name was Jordan Jameson, said i had to talk to my husband, so he gave me his ext., his rep #, and his personal cell number. 88 dollars minimum for government taxes per person with a minimum of two. I knew if was a scam, but wanted to report it.

- red_head| 1 replyoh my god. this is the worst and funniest thing that has happened to me. I like everyone else almost got scammed. I received a phone call from this place they said I won a vacation cruise that I got to choose between three cruise lines. I just so happened to be looking at cruises five minutes prior. I tend to be nieve sometimes and I thought my prayers were answered. When he started to tell me all this info I was so excited. Just to make sure I wasnt being doopedI hung up and was given a call back number which was 1-877-842-0341 ex 475 with the customer service guy with the name (KEN)the original number that called me was 571-26-0102. When I was telling my mom of this great deal I was very upset and mad when she immediately said it ws a scam. she told me to look up this number and low and behold I found this web site. I felt so stupid for believing it could be true. But then I realized. Kind people like us in the world can be dooped... We all have to stick together and help each other out
- red_head replies to AlmostScammedthank you so much for putting your experience it really saved me
- PeterI got the same call except it was 97$ with a minimum of 2 people now. The representative was very good almost got me sold. Thankfully I asked for a call back number because I wanted to think it over. I got on the internet and looked and got this site. They also said they were from Us travel group but the name doesnt come up on google. I also called back the number but it was just a message recording definitely a scam.

- Rachelwe just got the same call... but $93 and minimum 2 people up to 6... she even gave me the same extension!!! and her name was Mercedes... when I asked how we won she played dumb until i asked if it was from a cruise we had recently gone on and she perked up and said yes... When I asked how I could know this was real she said the call was recorded and she would transfer me to quality assurance to get my info. I said I would call back and researched it on the internet and I'm so glad I found this sight!

- BrendanI actually got this Same exact call about 4 months ago, except I went ahead and reserved a cabin for two people, they then sent me a travel porfolio i got in the mail, it was a huge packed full of information as far as which cruise my family and I wanted to take. we just got off the exotic 7 day western carribbean cruise, all my wife and I paid was 93 dollars per person..we had a great time. But now im worried as to why everyone is calling it a scam, they havent charged anything more to my credit card...and they better not. other than that, it worked out for me

- HeatherNow they are saying that people won a cruise from Rite Aid's Game of Life. If you DID win a cruise from Rite Aid - they DO NOT ask for any money. And you have 14 days to respond after you receive a CERTIFIED LETTER.
I'm sure the person above is an employee of the scam company and wants to keep getting their free money. - MonicaPLEASE HELP ME!!
Two days ago my parents and I recieved a phone call saying that we had won a free cruise. He said his name was Wellington Armstrong and he worked for a Cruise Promitons company. The specifics were that we could get a free cruise up to 16 people (2 person minimum) for just $93 per person for federal taxes. He gave us the phone number 877-842-0341 to call back with his personal ext. 467, and said he would e-mail us with seven different cruise options and that we had 18 months to go on this cruise.
He said we won the cruise from the servey that we took at the end of our last Carnival Cruise. Since we were just on a Carnival Cruise 2 months ago and i remember taking a servey at the end and putting down our phone number on it, I believed him. It seemed so legit.
"Wellington" was very friendly and personable. He even connected us to quality coustomer control, or so we thought, to charge our credit card for $186 (the cost for 2 people), and they said we could add up to 14 more people within the next 30 days. That charge is still pending on our credit card.
I'm crushed. Not only did they just steal my family's credit card information (which now the card is cancelled), but they took my trust and anticipation that I was going to go on a free cruise.
Since this is still so fresh, I need help. I want to take further action on this matter and put an end to this injustice, dishonerable, unethical fraudulence. I want to know what I can do as far as legal matters are concerned. I want to do everything and anything in my power to ensure that this doesn't happen to any more innocent people. I want to make a difference, and I am only 16 years old. Please Help.
