Told to call to claim cruise I won. Smells like a scam, others got the same message. I recommend not calling back.

Just got a voicemail saying something like "Hi this is Amy. You entered our holiday cruise contest and won an NCL or Royal Caribbean cruise.  Call me back at 877.842.0347 to claim your cruise.  Decided to google it, found this page and see it is indeed a scam. Wishing "Amy" all the bad karma she deserves.

Recieved a call on 1/5/2010 from an Amy,she left a message she said i won a cruz she ask me to call her at 877-842-0347. I called and left my cell # and on 1/6/2010 I recieved a call on another # this time i talked with a guy who said his name was jovon and he said that i had won a cruz and that all i had to pay was taxes and that i had todat to secure it. I called him back and ask him to fax me an innvoice he referd me to a web sight then i googled the Phone# he gave me and that brought me to this sight

I got the same exact call, not calling back.

Same as above, so I'm calling the Better Bussiness Bureau

Got the same voicemail on my cell this morning. Did not try to call back.

Why has this company (that claims you have won a cruise from a caller named "Amy") been shut down for good???  

It could be that it is a scammer operation based offshore with a US 800/877 toll free-calling number to give it more legitimacy--and to avoid legal repercussions from US authorities.  

Apparently, these crooks have been running this scam for quiet some time!

I did not and will not return her call.  As for "Amy"--I would like to personally tell her where she can go--(Hint: With a one-way ticket to an extremely HOT place!)

Same story with Amy, not a Holiday cruise but a Royal Caribbean, NCL or some other carrier cruise.  If you won something wouldn't they know which one?  Same 877 number but the original call came from a 443 - 550 - 7912 number.  Watch out, this cannot be legit!

Listened to the same recording from "Amy" on my VM this morning.  You would think that if it was ligit, it would be a "live" person instead of some canned recording...besides...I never entered any drawing or contest...
