877-847-1997

I unexpectedly had to go out of town for several weeks, and missed a payment on my MBNA MasterCard. I live alone, so no one was here to answer the phone when they called. So... these jokers at MBNA somehow figured out the name, address and phone number of my NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR, and they phoned HER (my neighbour), asking that she pass on an "urgent personal message" to me. This message, which she left in my mail box, included the phone number 1-877-847-1997. I phoned them when I got home, and straightened the matter out. Needless to say, I was NOT pleased with their totally EXCESSIVE and UNNECESSARY hardball tactics! And I made this very clear to them...

when I called back 877-847-1997 they answered the phone "Canada Card Services" but said that they are MBNA. I believe they are a 3rd party outsourcing agency and NOT MBNA

This is MBNA Canada. This specific number is for the collections department. This is not outsourced - these calls come from the head office in Ottawa. If you are receiving messages probably a good idea to give them a call.

Yeah the # is for MBNA.  I do have a Mastercard through them, and yeah it is a month or two behind, I know this.  However, yesterday I got the most abusive and condescending message from them from a collector who didn't bother leaving his name, where he was calling from, or what about.  As far as I know it's illegal to leave such messages.  I'm considering a law suit.

would have to agree these guys are brutal for thier 'customer relations', I've had them once call every 15 mins for 3 hrs at a time even after 8pm in one case.  They'll call your neighbour (which is ilegal) and distant family members (again which is against the law).  They wil call your previous addresses phone numbers too, and will not believe that you have moved, even if your mailing address has changed. And don't get me started when you actually get a msg from them or talk with them...  I've even had them harass me for being $5 off of a payment. Not only that but they screw up on payment negotiations all the time, I think they are trained to be right [***].

ya i know wat u mean phone my parents harassing them and sayin should keep tabs on family better as well as they dont note the arrangments u had made before

Called back and a recording asked for the last 4 digits of my card number.

they call five and six times a day from different numbers......when i look numbers up it says mbna      they never leave a message.........i know i owe money, but leave a message, send snail mail.......

Horrible can't wait to pay off the rest of my debt and shredding the card.

Just got a new phone and this same number calls and hangs up on me several times a day. I called back and their rep was rude and didn’t help identify why I was being called, he said I wasn’t a customer and he can’t make these calls stop. It’s so annoying and yet no one can solve this problem.

They call way too many times a day.
