Visalus is a legitimate health/nutrition/weight control product and they don't do cold calls.  If they are calling you it is because someone has given them your number and requested that they call.  You can find out more about them at www.vickihughes.bodybyvi.com.

If they were given someone's number to call, and that person did not request the call, THEN IT IS A COLD CALL!  They need to check these numbers to the Do Not Call List!

So they are nothing but solicitors, with all the responsbility that goes with that.  Do not call people on the DNC list.  It is YOUR responsibility to be sure you are not breaking Federal Law.  Obviously you are mistaken about these calls, or people wound;'t be complaining.  Of course, now you've validated the complaints, and they can contact your company to complain personally, as well as file FCC complaints.  Thanks for the info; should really help for those who did not sign up for your product or company.

If they call you, like they just called me, it's because someone has given them your phone number.... if you've never heard of BodyByVi meal replacement shakes, then either someone who had your phone number before, or someone has referred you..... I am a rep for BBV/ViSalus, if someone gives me a person's phone number, I don't look it up on the DNC list..... if you are getting calls and don't want them, simply pick up the phone when they call and tell them you're not interested..... they just called me b/c I am a rep for them and they are telling me a/b a new promo.... but if I told them I was no longer interested, they would remove me, it's that easy :)

As a representative for a business it is in fact your responsibility to check the Do Not Call list otherwise the company you represent could be subject to legal action. The point of a do not call list is to filter unsolicited calls from occurring and there are heavy fines associated with calling people who are registered.

@Russ Instant communication such as the telephone was not invented for solicitation of services but for people with close relations to contact one another. By your logic there should be no rating systems for Television because you have cable so you must want all the content, hey you have internet so you must want viruses forget about anti-malware apps, lets be more extreme shall we? Everyone with working reproductive organs have no right to complain about rape; sex is sex who cares if you consented to it.

Don't forget people, if you are on the Do-not-call list, it is up to you to RE-REGISTER every year. Re-register 3 months BEFORE the end of one year from when you last registered, because it takes 3 months before you will show up on the DNC (Published Quarterly). It is NOT a one and done list. If you signed up 3 years ago, you have NOT BEEN ON THE LIST for 2 years. This said, if you haven't re-registered, it's YOUR FAULT your getting unsolicited calls. But of coarse like our society has become in this day and age, it's always someone elses fault, not mine for being irresponsible.

Direct from the Do Not Call website:
Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls. To add your number to the Registry you can call 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register, or go click on “Register a Phone Number” in the left column of this page.

Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.

seriously. I HATE phone calls. Especially cold calls. I would be happier if everyone emailed me instead. I don't want to talk to them or listen to them talk. I make complaints for every solictors call that comes to my phone as I am on the Do Not Call list and renew it regularly.

I have not requested information from this weight loss place. And it is NOT ok for other people to give out my information. My friends and family all know better. If I won't take their calls, I certainly wouldn't be ready to take some dumb solicitation call for a product I neither want nor need.

If you got calls every day asking for someone who isn't you, you would be outraged as well.

The company that called you.
