I got a call from this number.  Didn’t answer.  Will get blocked.  If it was legit, the Caller ID would show the name.

Has robo called me 2 days in a row looking for (pause pause pause) my adult son.  Says that a formal complaint has been charged against him but doesn't say who or what or why.  Does say that if he doesn't call within 24 hours, criminal charges will be filed against him.  Gives name of John Lewis.

Calling about a formal complaint for a name I've never heard and if nothing is done they'll be contacting the authorities.

This call comes daily; sometimes more than once each day.   I’ve got them blocked but I can see they tried to get through.  Wow, someone (whoever they’re looking for) must have done something really awful for them to call so often.  LOL!  Sometimes I wish I could answer these calls just to hear the ridiculous stories they tell.  I’m only reporting this again just to illustrate how often they call even though they aren’t getting through.

I stopped them by blocking their number. I only know they keep trying by looking at my call log. If they want to keep calling, thats their problem, since I am no longer bothered by their calls.

Who called

I blocked numerous numbers form the same scammer several years ago. This bunch of thugs even contacted my daughter who was in college at that time. IDK if any  of you has or had verizon wireless, but that would be the only connection between me, my daughter, and my son, whose name was inserted in the harassing calls.  So here's a NEW number to block for me, from the same creeps.

Received the same call .. it’s Ridiculous

After i blocked them from my cell phone (verizon) they are now calling my work number saying i have a check fraud with them.  Unbelievable since i haven't had a checking account for 15 years

100% a scam. They use scare tactics to try and extort money from people and family members. Even if this was legit, you CANNOT be arrested for owing a debt and they can "alert the authorities" all they want. Nothing will happen. Don't fall for it.

Or, the connection on numerous internet sites that list your name, your wife's name, and all your relative's and friend's names, people you never heard of, pictures of your house (Thanks a lot Google), and where you have ever lived (or not, doesn't matter if those people had the same name), and a ton of other stuff you always thought was private.  Not to mention they use places like Facebook to research as well.

Ah, the "John Lewis" Scam.  Now we are getting somewhere.

We are currently getting calls from this number stating they are filing a formal complaint for some payday loan taken-out and never repaid, saying their next step is to contact the "authorities."  They called the ex-spouse's number, work number, house phone and cell phone.  We investigaged this situation a few years ago when the same thing happened.  They had a portion of our old bank account numbers back then, which of course was a huge concern.  We've been advised by our bank not to engage.  Seems like we are back up on the top of the list for harassment.  These people are scammers.

This same thing is happening with us today.

Same calls and thing as everyone else...pretty crappy people to go running people's lives,while they're at work and harassing them for NO REASON at all but to just scam people...NORMAL PEOPLE,DON'T GO AROUND WRECKING OTHER NORMAL PEOPLE'S LIVES!! THEY'RE BLOCKED...enjoy my voice on my voicemail because that's the only thing you'll hear until your behind bars yourself! Merry Christmas scum bags!!

Called left a message, trying to sound really official, looking for someone who's name I've never heard of, said we are to call back immediately...thats not gonna happen.
