Well enlighten one, I have this same problem....these are crooks and there is an open investigation. I owe NO ONE and have NO OVERDUE BILLS, LIENS or anything worthy of bill collecting attention...not even a cell phone. You are most probably an employee of this organization. Coercing is ILLEGAL no matter what the circumstances....so is posing as an officer or organization of law...so is obtaining personal/legal information under false pretenses...shall I go on?? Would you like to hear the name of the bank they say I owe, but doesn't even exist??? Shut up and let people find their way through this confusion. If you are in fact an employee of this organization, that's unfortunate for you.

So is "know your laws"...no one gets a REAL summons, goes to court, adjudged, decreed then comes to THIS EXACT SITE THAT IS EXONERATING ITS TACTICS to give a generic testimonial about how life would have been so much greater if they had just gone along with it. It's TAX REFUND SEASON!!!! PEOPLE HAVE EXTRA DOLLARS SO THESE SCAMMERS COERCE, LIE, CHEAT to get it out of our hands.

You are definitely a scammer...if you weren't and just an idiot writing stuff that seems to make sense enough to them that it must be accurate, your response would not have been written. BTW, there are 7 new REAL sherriff departments investigating these calls. There is no CALI office, there is no one by the name of Mr. Cole and your business "Enterprises United" is a bust...a wannabe ENRON...

Did you know that when you pay a credit card company a settlement on the debt you owe and say it was for less then they were collecting, you better get a letter in writing stating you paid it off and no other actions will occur. I made that mistake. After 4 1/2 years later, these Jerks (Enterprise United Partners) contacted me through my work, I was at lunch, told a co-worker everything in detail about the money I owed, who I was pay, etc. Left a phone number and said I was to call within 1 hour or I was going to be served a summons. So I called them, gave the case number, and learned that my credit card that I paid off was not marked paid in full, but charged off. Since then, 2 collection companies had bought my account from the credit card company, what was $650 and settled for $300, now is $2400 with fees and "attorney fees", etc. When I told them I was not going to pay the $2400 ever, they started to settle for less, once we agreed to a price, I told them to send this new agreement to me in writing so "WE" could sign it, after 5 days of signing this, I still have seen nothing. Now that said... The UCC protects us from being sued from 3rd and 4th party collectors, they hold no right to the original agreement which I signed with the credit card company. It will be interesting, but I am sueing them for fraud and misconduct, not to mention breaking the privacy acts which protects my personel information from public (Like telling everyone at work I owe money and that I was to call within an hour or I would be summoned)... Check out the law, I am not trying to beat the system, just stopping the fraud that idiots like Enterprise is doing to us. What if I settle for $700? Will they ever send a document stating that the debt is PAID in full and no other actions will occur, or will they show the remaining amount as a charge off and sell this to another collection company and continue this like round and round.

As to the "enlighten one"... there are some circumstances that are not controlable and people may not be able to pay their bills and get into collections like I did, I thought I did the right thing and got settlement with credit card company... OPPS... showed not paid off, but charged off. They sell this account to collection companies for them to profit. If you knew anything you would understand this action, but instead you call us dead beats.... God help you that nothing like this ever happens to you, karma is a witch and will whoooppppp your S...

This company is called Enterprise United Partners.  The address the gave me is 2834 Hamner Ave. #142, Norco, CA 92860.  The phone number (correct) is 1-877-856-9439.  The fax for a man named "George Scott" is 951-268-1391.

Real information (According to BBB website):

    http://www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/Enterpr ... s-Inc-100098836 - They have an F Rating.

    Right phone number, wrong address.

    Story:

A phone call from a private number comes through my phone.  I pick it up, it is someone claiming that they are contacting me in reference to a court summons that they do not know the information of.  I ask for the number, they supply me with the 877 number above.  I reach a man named George Scott.  He proceeds to tell me that they are contacting me in reference to a court summons that they gave to me for a debt from a company.  He explains the original debt is a few hundred dollars (I will not post the actual amounts), but because of court fees and accrued interest, the amount being sued for is above $4000.  Not remembering that I already paid it off, I explained to him why it had not been paid in the past (there was one company that went out of business and I didn't have to pay that debt.)  My wife soon showed up to my location with my financial folder, where I saw that it was already paid off.

    That's when the circus began.

At first, he will act as though he has the authority to communicate with the company, and make arrangements.  They attempted to settle out of court, over the phone, in the amount of almost $1000.  He kept telling me it was strange that I didn't know about this because they have already sent out the summons to court and the complaint.  I received nothing, and when I asked them what addresses they had, they could only give me old addresses that I do not reside at anymore.  Furthermore, he did not once ask for my new address, even after asking him several times why he had not.  Once I began asking him several questions in return, his authority degraded to "I'm just the guy who files" and he no longer had any authority to really do anything.  All he kept saying was, "you have the right to fight it in court", and "all you have to do is wait for your papers to show up".  He could not provide why he did not have my address as the filer, and when I continued to insist that he give me to a supervisor that I can speak with to answer my questions, he hung up on me.

    Note:

States have Statutes of Limitations on debt collection.

    http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml

In two cases, a collection agency has either three years to collect on oral agreements, and six years on written contracts.  Mine was seven years ago, and I had already paid the debt off.  The collection agency that I originally paid the debt off to is the one that informed me that it was likely a scam, and to not give my information out to them.

The messed up part?  They have my SSN.

I was phoned at my office after, David James, announced to my receptionist that he was calling regarding an attempt to serve a summons to me.  After speaking with me he stated that he was from the sheriff's office, the civil division; there is no such thing in the Washington, DC area.   He then gave me a phone number to call regarding the matter.  I phoned and spoke to an abrasive Mr. Weinstein who gave me no information because I was asking him questions that made him uncomfortable-imagine that.  He claimed he had no supervisor and there was no one else that I might speak with regarding the matter.  I called back, confused and upset.  I then spoke to Cassie Hunter, she too, was uncomfortable with the information I was requesting and refused to give me any helpful information.  I am still baffled who these people, whom they represent and what the matter is really about.

They refused to give me any corporate telephone number or person in authority so that I may resolve this matter.  I would like for them never to call or visit my place of work.

people r ignorant. what the f do u think happens when u dont pay off your credit card debt? dont most people have to sign an agreement when opening up a credit card, stateing that if it's not paid, legal court action could take place.

if it's a scam then why doesnt everyone just go open up a credit card and charge it up, and ditch the payments. sounded to me like this company did me a favor. luckilly i hadnt been served yet, so i was able to handle my debt outta court. soo realived.

dirt bags always look to put down everyone but themselves. i caused my debt, and i did what was right. settled and paid back what i owe.

sad we live in such a REGGIN world

david james...we all know your a low life sleazy lying debt collector who works for this sleazy company.
people just ignore the IDIOT its nothing but a shill post.
yes you should try to pay your bills if you can,,,first pay your necessities bills rent, food lights etc etc..
the collectors can wait..now i must say please be very careful when dealing with this sleazy company they will rob you...if you decide to pay them (i would make arrangements with original creditor) do not use your personnel check it will have the name of your bank and account number and routing number and these idiots know how to take your signature and electronically transfer it on to approval withdrawal debit form and they will take every dime out of your account..USE MONEY ORDERS..if these fools say they don't take money orders then you say when you start taking money orders then give me a call and hang up,i bet within 24 hours they will call you and accept money orders.
My advise is do not deal with this low life company make other arrangements and let the original creditor know that they continuously violate the fdcpa law.

Can this company serve a judgment against you? I have been contacted by this company recently and the credit card was closed out by me and the credit card people changed names and then charged off my balance that I suppose to owe. Now it has been sold out three or four times. They are telling me they are going to file judgment on me. I opened the acct in 2005 and closed it 2008 with First National Bank which change to Credit One Bank.

This is regarding Enterprise United Partners.  They employ a number of bottom feeders laden with tattoes and numerous body piercings that can not secure regular employment.  They use the threats of lawsuits and garnishing peoples wages to make them pay. They also use a laughable ploy of a "uniformed process server" coming to their work to serve them papers. These people don't have the money for litigation or attorneys.  Dont you think MBNA and Capitol One would have done that themsevles?  And yes paying these guys does not help your credit once it is charged off. Also keep in mind most of these debtors have other charge offs as well. The best thing to do is file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy to start over.  If you get a phone call from one of these loser bill collectors, just tell them to go ahead and sue you and to never call back.  Again they don't have any resources to sue you, it is only a ploy.

Same thing...I returned the call with a case number after getting a message saying that I was going to be served with papers to appear in court for a ten year old debt that doesn't even appear on my credit report. They said they would settle for the "principle" amount owed and when I asked for a statement of the account I was told that my account information was in a sealed file that I would only be able to see in court. I was told that in order to settle for the lesser amount and not have to pay $2500 in legal fees, an arbitrary amount, I would have to make a payment by the close of the business day. When I told the them I would pay nothing without having documentation of activity on the account I was given a Bank of America general number by a "manager who told me that Bank of America would not be able to access the information because it had been sold to Hamner....So, it is very peculiar that there is no way for me to veiw the incriminating documentation to even prepare for this so-called court appearance. When I called the 866-516-5077 number back to reiterate the importance of having documentation before I would move forward the agent told me that I wasn't listening to him and hung up on me.

They use scare tactics to trick people into paying for a debt that we are not legally responsible for. I'm glad I did my research and demanded the proof that they obviously could not provide.

The person who said they were served a summons in their "local grocery store" is not being truthful and very likely works for the treacherous company that preys on peoples misinformed weakness.
