- BabybelKeeps calling our business phone. Called 3x in 3 days. When we pick up, a recording says they have documents for you to sign and to call them back at this number. I called it today to have our number removed & a gal said she couldn't find our phone # in their records so couldn't remove it. She also asked if I had a reference #, which the recording did not state. The company doesn't appear in Google no matter which way I spell it or where I check the #. Probably a junk-debt collector. Scam-ola all the way.
- Caller: "Thomas & Stone Acquisitions"
- razz0904Received call today - left a message for my sister stating they had legal documents they need to discuss with her or her attorney. Left phone # and reference #, and said if she did not return call, they would consider her as not cooperating and would continue with their case. Not even going to bother as they did not state company name, and I have no idea why they're calling my number for my sister. Showed up as "Unknown" on my caller ID.
- nonameguycalled me just the people above no info no reference number no nothing just scam
- JerseyGirl84Called my employer and sister, saying they were trying to serve me papers for debt. And that they would mark me uncooperative if I didn't set up meeting. Broke more than one federal law already.

- freespirit11258Guy left a message, said his name was Jake. If I don't call back in 24 hours something about my employer and documents could not understand what he was saying. I did see on another site that this is not a valid number and caller ID was spoofed whatever that means. No company or reference # was left in the message.

- Slim replies to South Dakota residentA phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

- mama bearThis company called my daughter in college who is 18 and her place of employment. They stated that she had a overdrawn closed account with Wells Fargo 5 yrs ago, that would have made her 13 yrs old. Come on now. She is currently a Wells Fargo customer and they never said anything about it when she opened it up in college. There were no previous debt collectors calling me in the past, since it would have been in my name at the time 5 yrs ago. They state that all debt collecting options were tried and we never paid up on it, so they are taking her to court. BS!!! SCAM!!! Just hang up and block number!!
