called from oakwood saying that i had different payday loans which is not true got mad when i spoke of a cease and desist letter and told me not to call them again when i asked for a letter of validation.

I received a call from an Eric Jones stateing claim number xxxx-xx, stated that I have officially been served,  wanted to verify home and business address information.  On the recording the caller was making this sound as an urgent matter.  
Based on the information provided by Bernard (22 Jun 2012) I am suspect of the call, as I have no outstanding debts, especially with a payday loan place.
I called the number back and the VRU (voice response unit) answered as Oakwood stated "if you know your parties extentions please enter it now, otherwise enter 0 for the next available oporator"  I entered 0 and received the message all representitives are busy (called at 10:20 PM Central Time US).

I getting the same calls as well as my family.
I have no payday loans out.....
what do I do?

The person is a man that calls me from this number.  He calls at all hours, even after midnight.  I believe he is not a lawyer filing any legal documents but an independent credit collector who gets paid a commission for defrauding people, because if this was a real case against me like he claims they would have served me with court documents, not keep trying to call me at all hours of the night 50 and 60 times a day like he is doing.  These people hope to trick people into being scared into giving them credit card numbers or bank account information.  Don't trust anyone calling from this number or telling you to call this number I would just ignore these calls.

I received 6 phone calls in a row from an "unknown" number on my cell phone, while at work this morning. I do not answer my cell at work unless the call is coming from one of my kids. Each time the caller hung up & immediately called back, without leaving a message. On the final call they did leave a message. "Eric Jones" stated that he was calling in regard to a claim that was referred to him & gave a claim #. Stated he had my address confirmed as "...." & that he needed to serve me with documents regarding the case filed against me. He also said that I had been notified about this & given "plenty of opportunity" to contact the "firm" handling the case against me & had "refused" to do so. Stated that I could call 877-861-6916 & reference the claim # in order to handle the matter, otherwise he was proceeding to my address immediately. "Eric Jones" speaks with a very authoritarian tone to his voice & makes every effort to sound as if this is an extremely urgent & important matter & really tries to scare you into thinking he is on his way to your home right now. He made no reference to a payday loan in the message, as others here have mentioned, so I'm not entirely sure what this is supposedly about. I have had payday loans in the past, through one company only, & they've been paid in full. Furthermore, I work in collections & I am very familiar with the items on my credit report, so the chances are HIGHLY likely that this is yet another one of these shady companies that obtains your information through pulling your credit report or via information you've given out online at some point, then uses that information in an attempt to exploit & collect money from unscrupulous consumers. Don't fall for it!
