Spam and Phishing call, pretend to be FPL to collect past dues.

My company received a call from a Sal (with a heavy ascent) today. He stated he was from California Edison's debt & collection department, calling regarding an over-due bill. According to this gentleman he was going to turn-off our service within the hour if we did not pay him immediately. (By the way...the payment had to be done by gift cards, REALLY!) Our first notion was to hang-up, but we decided to carry on the conversation to see how far he would take the scam. Well he gave up pretty quick. We simply asked questions (That if he really worked for California Edison) he would know. Not the case. He replied with anger and deflection to the point he had no other choice but to hang up.  We called the real “California Edison" to ensure that our account was in order. And as expected we were good, so we called this Sal again to have a little fun!
When you call this number (877 863-3664) there is a recording that does sound like you called the right place (PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!), a lady picks ups who has very little command of the English language and cannot I repeat cannot answers the simplest of questions before hanging up. If you are lucky she will transfer you to Sal. He’s marginally better at his Role, but not by much. If you question the bill or ask to be speak to a manager or supervisor. He will hang up on you. If you tell him that you will pay to avoid from getting shut-off. He will then transfer you to another gentleman who will require that you pay with gift cards.
If you have any doubt that you may owe any amount to California Edison. Please call them from the list of number on the back of your bill.
These people are scam artist and do to not deserve your time let alone your money. Do not be fooled. GOOD LUCK.

They just tried to SCAM me too...They threaten to cut off my power saying a technician is on his way in 1/2 hour but when I questioned them on details they quickly hang up on me.
