I got a call from them and they would not verbally give me their number... but texted their number to my daughters phone. they claim to be representing some firm I have never heard of.

I received a voicemail from a caller who did not identify himself or his organization and claimed that a complaint was filed against me during a recent audit (undisclosed). He referenced a case file number I should use, and to call another unidentified organization (877)878-7619. This is obviously a scam.

I received a voice mail from a man stating his name was Charles Marshall and he had a complaint filed in his office and that if I did not respond they would proceed without my consent.  He referenced a file number but did not leave the name of the organization only left a return phone number.  When he called the number shoed up as restricted on my caller ID.    SCAMMMMMM

I got a call from this number saying that my daughter had filed a complaint against me and gave a file number. when I got the call yesterday, I didn't answer, because it said restricted number, so they left a voicemail. This number sure is busy!!

This number called my MIL and left a message regardung my husband  (her son) said there wss a complaint filed against him and to call with reference number. Not sure how they got her number since he never resided there. Scared her to death. Total scam anything we can do about this?

Got a call from a Cynthia Padilla stating she represents a law firm Orion law group and they want to serve with court docs. States that this was for a 9 year old debt. Seemed real and she was really aggressive and felt harassed.

I do t know what is going on. Strange call. Meant to evoke fear. Which it did. I hope this is simply a scam and not real. Anyone know for sure what this is?

Yep.  You've received a call from debt scammers.  IF you were going to be sued over an unpaid debt, you'd have received lots of letters in the mail, and then a visit from a court appointed process server - who does NOT call to give you a heads up!  You can learn more here, at the link from the FTC, on how to tell if a scammer is attempting to shake you down for money that you don't owe, you've already paid, or even that you do owe - but not to the caller:

From the other posts here this caller appears to be a debt collector using intimidation tactics to get alleged debtors to call back so they can verbally bully you into paying a debt without providing proper documentation about the debt, proof that you owe it and proof they have a legal right to collect on the alleged debt.  No real process server will call to warn you or offer you a way to pay your way out of service. Debt collectors often make this type of statement with no intention to actually file in court since many of these debts are old enough to be beyond the statute of limitations to take you to court to collect and no court papers exist.

They keep calling harassing me

I reported this number to the FTC...same crap..saying filing a compliant, they even called my son and left a message on his phone.  TOTAL SCAM...how dumb do they think people are these days...if I was being sued I think I would receive something in the mail..TICKS you off that they can get your number, but you can do nothing to stop them.

I received a call from Mrs. Stevens  informing me to call 1-877-878-7619 at work ( I have some certified mail) and they call my parents.  I am so mad at how they can get  this information.

They insisted they were a law firm that was trying to reach my mother.  They called my father - her ex husband.

An unknown caller keeps calling me by the name of Brian maxwell stating the same things others are saying and then saying I need to call this 877 number and talk to the people who are filing a complaint against me. Have called my mom, dad and my brother.   Ridiculous scam.

What do u mean certified mail

Received a voice-mail from an Unknown number telling me the same as most all previous comment's... telling me it's an attempt to collect a debt, provided a case number,  and the call has been recorded.  And to call 877-878-7619.
Well,  that's not gonna happen!
I don't return calls from Unknown numbers NOR any 8## numbers.   I'm not sure if this is legit or a scam but I'll take a gamble and NOT CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED.
Anyone have a similar case number?   Beginning with DA and ending with 28?  Just curious.

This is becoming absolutely ridiculous!! For the past 3 days I have received calls from a PRIVATE/UNKNOWN NUMBER... Obviously, sets off a red flag. Stating that something is filed against me on so and so property. They have even called my sister in law and father. I attempted to find an address using the 1-877 number provided, but wasn't able to do so. Therefore, I cannot write a letter instructing them to leave me alone (if you look at a website that a gentleman supplied above, you can write the debt collector and they are no longer allowed to contact you) Unfortunately, No address is available. Is there a way to make this STOP?

Received a call today saying a complaint had been filed against me. What is the common link to this scam? Anyone have any ideas?

It appears all the cases are DA.... My message was that a complaint had been filled against me. Appears there are different scripts.

The company with this number belongs to trover consulting firm. I spoke with a woman there named Jordan Kline.  Now google trover consulting firm and you will see all the scams posted about them. Seems this number and there "firm" go hand in hand. Wanted to send me documents through my email and have me electronically sign to pay the settlement.  Sounded pretty believable but not very professional.  Claimed I should of received a letter in the mail and I didn't.  I do owe a debt to the company they are saying I owe to but i owed this 8 years ago. Unless you're gonna serve me papers in person this has to be a scam. They will also use number 8778787622
