- Jim RobertsI am with the Clay County, Missouri, Prosecutor's Office. If someone from this number calls and says they represent this office, they are lying. If we call you, it's because you are a victim or witness in a criminal case. When we call, we will clearly identify ourselves. If you are not there, we will leave a working number and be respectful of your time.

- Heather| 1 replyLady who didn't identify herself told me I would be served with papers and if I wasn't home when they would be there I would need to schedule a time with them that I would be home to be served. She said I had to appear in court. She wouldn't give me anymore information. The number came up private but they gave me the 888 number to call back if I had to reschedule being served.

- LaurenI'm sorry to use inappropriate language, but I am so pissed off. I received a voice mail from this number, from a Mr. Gonzales stating he was with some law firm (something and Associates, it was hard to hear), and that they had a file placed with them for me. He made it sound like my apartment complex's rental company had put the file with them (although he didn't have the address exactly correct, that should have been my first clue). Of course, I immediately panicked, wondering what could have gone wrong as I know I paid my rent this month, it was taken out of my account, and I have nothing outstanding with them. I called them first, asking if they knew about me having an issue with them (but it would be so strange because they provide warning first if you are late, put notice on your door, whatever). The guy at my apartment said he'd look into it. Then I decided to do what I normally do, I googled the number, and of course came across these postings. What a dirty trick to play on someone to get them to call back. I'm so glad I checked into it first. I was SO upset - I really thought this was real at first, and something had gone wrong with my rent check. I have some old debt from when I was in college and poor, and I know that's bad, but I DON'T deserve to be tricked or cheated and made to panic and interrupt my day (I'm a new teacher and it's hard enough trying to keep it together during the day). I called my apartment back and told them I thought this was probably a trick from a debt collector and apologized for the confusion (so embarassing). I AM SO AGGRAVATED - these practices should not be allowed. Rant over.

- NPSIt struck me as odd that a court or anything that has to do with a court appearance would not provide their information. So, I googled the number and found this post. Thanks for posting info everyone but beware that the callers could be operating this blog/site and getting information because they've upset us and now we're typing awaying regarding past residences, family and career info.
Further as one post put it, "... my creditors know my information".
Good luck all!- Caller: Unknown

- DeejayMy father in law received a call from this company trying to find me saying they were serving me papers in a county four hours away from me and left a phone number for me to call. He got the number wrong so I called that county and they had no record of any suits against me and said they don’t work that way it would come certified mail. About a week later he gets the same call except this time they are in MY County and coming at 3pm (they called at 2). 3:00 came and went and no one came. I called the next day to talk to them and not sure it might have been an old CC that I had paid off YEARS ago. I checked with my bank and of course the check I wrote was converted into ACH with no record of my check saying final payment paid. ( in fact he told me my cc co lied to me but I am to believe a complete stranger calling me?) I did internet search and found all kinds of comments so when he called me back I asked why they called saying they were serving me papers? His response was we don’t misrepresent ourselves as police officers….. I said I didn’t ask that I asked why did you tell my father in law you were serving me papers. He never could answer me and was very good at diverting the question and wanted a yes or no answer if I was going pay. I said you never showed up here and his response was well I called in time and I said not I waited a day after you said I was being served. I said I am not even sure what it is for that I need proof as it all sounds fishy and if sounds like a fish it probably is and asked him for payment records and he didn’t have those he just needed to collect this debt and all he could send me was the debt owed. He kept asking me for a yes or no cause if it was no he was going to proceed with actions and I said I am not saying yes… and I am not saying no……. until I get more answers so it was left at that. Now I see more and more with the same problem and I want to check into the FDCPA and might even tell him I am looking into them if he calls again.

- Bill HopeHad this "Law Firm" call me from a restricted number yesterday saying they wanted to "serve" me papers. They had an old address of mine. I wasn't going to give them any information on where I live etc. because it sounded quite fishy because I know when you're served papers from the court they really know how to find someone. I looked up the # that the "gentleman" (John) gave me online (877-888-9603) I sent the local prosecutor an email (I know she's a bulldog with criminals so I'm sure she'll take care of it)

Nichol Thomas.... said there were two fraud alerts on my account and unless I called them back they were going to forward this to a county that I don't even live in. Scam... since the previous caller, Valerie, had enough information I pulled out of them that made it sound credible until they cited the bank and account number the supposed payday loan was deposited into...never had an account at that bank and called said bank. The bank called me back in regards to their digging into their records, my name nor my SSN was in their system and the head of their internet security dept said for me to hang up on them if they called again.
Have fraud alerts on my credit lines, and purchased credit monitoring ... nothing has hit my credit line either.- Caller: AMG
