Scam phishing for information. Whoever is running this scam (likely spoofing its caller ID) called my Skype number which I don't give out. Furthermore, Medicaid wouldn't call to threaten you to sign up for service or claim to have the authority to sign you up for a plan against your will. I have health insurance, so Medicaid wouldn't be calling me to get insurance, especially claiming I don't already have insurance. I repeat: THIS IS A SCAM! Unless you are expecting a call from a government agency, any government agency, you should assume it is a scam.

His cell phone was probably your old cell phone and you gave the public aid people that number years ago.

It is the Illinois Department of Health! http://enrollhfs.illinois.gov/  You can show proof to some people all day long and they still won't believe you! Take it as you will... If the Ins. gets messed up because they didn't answer it's on them! (Not a SCAM or TELEMARKETER - This is MEDICAL INSURANCE [Medicaid])

...don't know that scammers routinely spoof legitimate numbers. While your call MAY have been legitimate, for others, it may not be!

The number does in fact belong to the Client Enrollment Services Office of Illinois Health Services, the state office that handles Medicaid and Medicare for the state of Illinois, and may be the people who are handling your health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA/"Obamacare").

If you are absolutely certain that there could be no reason for them to be calling you (for instance, your health insurance is entirely through a private company, you don't live in Illinois, or you have no health insurance) don't answer.

If you don't think there's any reason for them to be calling you, but you aren't certain, answer; if you call back, the rep you talk to probably won't have any information on why they called in the first place.

If you do have any sort of government health care in Illinois, answer. Again, calling back means that you'll get a random rep who may or may not have the  information about why they called in the first place.

Also,, if you have recently signed up with Medicaid, you *must* choose a provider plan and a Primary Care Physician. If you do not choose one, the state can and will assign you to one.

This is actually a call from Illinois HHS.  I just went on Medicaid and have not selected a plan. I've received paper reminders and this is just a phone call reminder to do so.  Nothing scammy about it that I can see so far

It was a call from Ed Lover from “Ed Lover in the Morning on 104.3 Jams” telling me that I need to sign up for Alliance healthcare. I already have healthcare through my work, so I ignored the VM and blocked the number. Annoying!

Caller ID claims to be Illinois Client Enrollment Services, didn't answer.

NOT A SCAM. It's IL DCFS calling to advise you or a family member need to choose a physician for the upcoming year. It's for Medicaid recipients.

I've tried calling this number, it's supposed to be client enrollment services. You're supposed to be able to change your health plan by calling this number. The first time I called they asked for my social and debit card number?? Obviously didn't give them that. The next time I called they said they're having technical difficulties and to call back a month from now. What the hell! I'm not buying that this is HFS.

Called several times in last ten ddays. Rude dude states "If I do not pick a health plan, one will be chosen for me" I suspect  they are spoofing the Illinois Health and Family Services phone number.
