I just got a call from someone saying they were CLS Consulting firm.  And the message they left was they were serving me with documents I would have to show I'd to receive. And if I had any questions to call their client at 877;915-8719.  When I called I couldn't understand the company name and ask the operator to repeat and put on hold.  I hung up.

Just received a call from James Campbell from CLS telling us to call his client at 877-9158719 and that there will be documents we will be receiving from them to our house and place of work. Called the number back and it says it is a consulting firm, not very clear of the name but thought the message said Brockton Moore Consulting Firm. I googled this firm and it has no phone number listed on its website.

This type of call is usually from a collection company that purchased a debt from another company in hopes to make a profit by recovering money that was owed.  If this was a legitimate claim filed in court, they would have already served you at your work or home by a process server.  This is a tactic so you would call them back and hope their threats will force you to pay with a credit card over the phone.  Contact the Better Business Bureau & file a claim against them.  Dont let them intimidate you & keep phone records if they continue to call.  Collection agencies have been sued before!  I should switch from persoal injuries to suing these idiots, but usually they are from another state.  However, I have called the Attorney General in which these collection low lifes work from and cases have been filed against them.  Know your rights!

I also received a call at my home and work.  Person called himself Investigator Robert Carlyle from CLS on behalf of UFC.  Had the last 4 of my social, referred to cases of a few fraudulent checks and a bank that I used to have an account with. Phrases like I will be served at home or my work.  Even referred to the county sheriff's office of the county I live in.  I needed to call the complainant at 877-915-8719. Enough information that makes it seem legit.  Things that make me think otherwise - I have not received anything from the bank I used to have an account with, I have not received any certified letters, know I have not written bad checks.  Called back the number he called from and it rang and rang with no voicemail or anything that would make me believe he was calling from a legit company.  As Attorney at Law has mentioned, I suspect a collection agency that is using intimidation tactics to try and collect money.

I just received a call from a rather odd ph #. It showed up on caller ID as a New York phone number, but you can be the judge:
    115187726191
I have juggled this number every which way, and in NO way does it seem to make sense!
He identified himself as James Campbell with CLS, then proceeded to leave a threatening message on my Voicemail informing me that I would be served legal documents within 2 days at either my HOME or my place of EMPLOYMENT , and I would NEED Identification, and that I or my attorney could call the "Client" :
    877-915-8719

After reading the comments above, I am certainly not going to be returning his call.
I have no idea what my options might be, or my rights for that matter, but I do know that in the past few days alone I have gotten over 30 calls from different "Debt Collection Agencies", and some of these so called debts are over TWENTY years old!!!  What the heck is going on??  I know for a fact most were paid off long ago, but I certainly don't have records going back that far!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

So let me understand you correctly, Attorney at Law, you're basically saying that people who sign up for a credit card and don't pay it for whatever the reason might be, should be able to get off the hook, not pay back their debt and then sue the company trying to collect that debt in the end?  Wow, you must be from California, because you certainly are entitled and think you are owed something for nothing.  I have credit cards, everyone does, and I pay my bills because it's the right thing to do.  I signed an agreement with the credit card company or issuing bank stating I would pay my bill on time every month.  I'm guessing you use contracts too, but they must not mean anything unless it's a contract with you, right?  Pretty hypocritical.  You're a typical attorney chasing ambulances to make a buck off someone else's misfortune.  You are the reason society is so messed up and everyone thinks they can treat each other like crap.  You're right about everyone having rights and avoiding debt is one of them, but is it morally and ethically sound?  Does it send the right message to your children when you let your credit fall apart and you don't fulfill the obligations you agreed upon?

I live in Murrieta and decided to drive by that place.  It's not a mall at all, but actually a legitimate office building right next to the school district main offices.  I went to their office and was greeted by a lady that explained they are a consulting firm that provides financial consulting and enforcement services to their portfolio customers.  If this was a scam, how could they have an office front in a city like Murrieta and still be in business?  The mall is actually about 2 miles away over on Winchester Ave.  I'm not sure where you live, but you should know the city and surroundings before you comment.

Jeeee-zus, here we go again with the "moral outrage" routine. The caliber of "debt collector" which resorts to shock and scare tactics -- such as vaguely warning of "papers on the desk" and pretty much saying "pay us and we'll save you from a judge" -- is one which *never* has the goods to substantiate its claims against alleged debtors. Sure, borrowers agree to a contract, but collectors also agree to obey laws governing their conduct, which are written to deter abuse of already distressed people.

Those agencies found out of compliance need to be spanked hard and often, and must be *denied* the prizes they seek. The "right message to your children" also includes instruction against throwing away money on lying cowardly thugs who hide behind a telephone.

I don't care if the building looks like a hybrid of Trump Tower and a Dubai hotel and is clad in platinum. If anything, criminal types barely ahead of regulators are more likely to be found in the shiny expensive real estate. The "Not Shut Down Yet" argument doesn't wash. If a debt collector breaks the law and denies my rights, all its glass and steel is no barrier to my legal brief missiles aimed straight at its management.

} consulting firm that provides financial consulting and enforcement services to their portfolio customers

Now let's take the cotton balls of obfuscation from her/your mouth. "Portfolio customers" equals junk debt buyers and collectors. The only "enforcement" needed is of lender contracts, presumably bundled with debt portfolio CDs, but not always the correct ones applicable to each account. Typically absent are any records proving anyone owes, prompting the "enforcer" to bully and bluff payments from its victims. You can "financially consult" all you please, but the FTC definition of "debt collector" still applies, however sloppy a job you do.
