received the same call as above. it went to voice mail. I knew something was fishy as private numbers do not leave messages. why hide your number? I also went straight to google to search the name of the company. came up empty, so I googled the number. it came here. This is def. a scam. As the others stated, debt collectors and such send letters first. you have 30 days to dispute the debt. they usually sell the debt to another collection agency if they can not collect the money from you, then throw it on your credit report. If you get this call tell them to send the papers. At least you'll know either you'll never get it, or if you do, you have a paper trail, but do NOT pay any money over the phone first!

same thing just happened to me .. A last left a voicemail stating my name and social security # and that we owe a debt, and that she is on her way to serve some papers. She said to call (877) 917-3536 to resolve the matter .. haha yay for google and reading these comments cuz I was worried .. I was a Craigslist victim a few years ago from scam artists ugh!

Just happened to me as well and they wanted my credit card i asked them to send me in writing they kept saying itl get here after i was to pay. Said a lady was comming to serve me court papers too. I canceled my card and not paying anything! I called and they say theyl find something on ur xredit u may remember may not but mine was from 7 yrs ago and it should fall off thats how they get u. Dont pay this number a dime!

OMG I just received a voice mail message from the same stupid company.  They left the message for some girl and left her full social security number concerning 2 complaints and will serve her at work or home.
They can kiss off and if they call me again I will contact our local FBI office also

it is illegal for a collection agency to state they are legal departments and to leave messages on a unverified voice mail with someones last 4 of there social security number. a collection agency is just a collection agency they cannot harrass you or lie about who they are they are just collectors and all they are to do is call to attempt to collect a debt not harass and threaten anyone. i say we all file a complaint against them and start a class action lawsuit, 4 collection agencies in CA were just shut down for lying and not following fdcpa rules and regulations. so i am filing complaints and want to start a class action lawsuit.

Just received a call stating my name and last 4 digits of my social. I do not want them calling and harrassing anymore. What do I do?

I received a message on my home phone number that cannot even be linked to me from Alicia Scott who stated that she was an investigator from Dept of Legal Aid regarding some type of documents that were suppose to have been faxed to them from this law office Brinkman & Associates.  She then left a case# and stated that I would be served at my address with legal documents.  I use to work as a legal collector and I do know my rights.  These people really need to stop preying on people; especially in these economical times.  You must receive a letter in writing stating the original creditor, amount owed, account number, etc. before any legal action can be taken against you.

I received a voice mail message from some guy threatening to bring "papers" to my house if I did not call 877-917-3536 about a debt.  I called and spoke with Ronald Jones.  He was talking really fast, saying I needed to pay $500.00.  I said no.  He put me on hold for about 2 minutes and came back saying a payment plan could be set up for 3 months totaling $240.00 a month to include an additional $220.00 in interest.  I still would not give him a card number.  

Another call came two days later from Mike Woods.  He likes to talk over whatever you're saying.  I did it back to him and asked if I could have this in writing.  He said all he could do was send me an email.  I asked him where they were.  When I started asking other questions like "what is your name again..."  He lowered his voice some.  I did receive the email.  I told him I would call back.  By today, Mike Woods was calling again saying "they're getting ready to take you to court."  I said, "I'm driving and cannot talk, I'll call you back."  When I did call back, nooooobody would pick up the phone.  I called several times.  The voice mail would not take messages.  It was well before 5 pm (the closing time according to the email).

THE NEXT CALL I MADE WAS TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF New York.

I responded to their email stating that I called the Attorney General's Office AND the "original debt owner".

Have NOT received another call or email.

I got the same phone call as Mick the Mouse.  I am so glad I have done some research on this matter.  It all did sound very real.  I was seriously scared and concerned.  I told them I would call back tomorrow to take care of it.  I had them send me an email over it and it was a very vage letter.  Cindy Scott is who left the message.  Megan Cook is who I spoke with.  They were definitely giving information that I don't like them having.  If you have got a phone call from them DO NOT get alarmed.  It is definitely a SCAM.  I am glad I read this before calling back tomorrow and paying money to people who are obviously to lazy to get a real job.  Thank you everyone for your comments.

Getting phone calls from Brinkman and Assoc. stating we owe money on a payday loans from over 13 years ago.  According to Google, this company is a scam operation.

I also got a call from  someone wanting to serve me papers and said they where pressing criminal charges and gave me the phone number 866-760-4327 and case number when I called they also said they were Brinkmen Alliance Group and told me if I did not pay with inn 24 hours they would proceed with the court filing. they said they only accept electronic payment which is weird because any company acting in good faith will accept money orders. They instill fear in to people and threaten them and harass them to pay. I asked for an email with information about the company and they sent me something from a gmail account. No legit company send emails from a gmail account. Could not find them anywhere online except here.  These people are call "zombie debt collectors" they try and collect debts that are way past the statue of limitations and do it unlawfully. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE.

I spoke  to the same person Megan cook and they are bad news they harass and instill fear into people with threats of court and criminal charges. Bad people

Threatening arrest (which is what they are doing if they say they will be "pressing criminal charges") for non-payment of a debt is very illegal. They probably spoofed their Caller ID, so the call in all likelihood didn't really come from the number shown on your phone. The 866-760-4327 number appears to be good and if you search *that* number on 800notes you'll find plenty of allegations of illegal behavior.

They have far more to worry about than you do when it comes to criminal charges and arrest.

I received the same threats just now.  2 charges against me, and that I'd be subpoena'd within 24hrs.  They struggled to get my name right, and I maintained control without giving them the information they wanted.  Glad I found this forum.  I decided to call them with my number restricted, and tell them I'm a Federal Agent and that I need to speak with their manager.  Well, I did it.  I made up a script, rehearsed it quickly, and called under a restricted guise.  Hey, they can do it to us right?  Nope!  The party does not accept restricted calls (thought I was gonna have to do it unrestricted, or say eff it all), then the recording asked for me to enter my number.  I chose a different area code (didn't work), so I chose my local area code and bull [***] the rest.  I got through and recorded the conversation.  Gonna Youtube it!!

They are using a different name(which you cant understand) and number 866-760-4327.I got took and then the nect day they took it again.When i did a reverse check on the number it came up as brinkman alliance.

I got a phone call from thoes people yesterday my mom pulled up and i told her who was on the phone and she told me to hang up it was a scam 12-18 13

I just got a call from them saying im being sued from a bank becasue I was writting bad checks! Nothing made sence! The bank she said ive never had an account at! What the hell is going on ?!??!
