I received a call at my work and a woman by the name of Debra told me if I didn't pay the collection they were pursuing legal action, I would go to jail, they would garnish my wages, etc. When I asked for her full name she would not give it.  When I asked for the name of the company she worked for she said "Legal Services".  After she screamed and cussed at me she hung up the phone.  I called the number back and asked to speak to a superior or a person in charge.They never contected me with anyone. They asked me all kinds of information from my SS#, DOB, work #, then asked the same for my soon to be ex-husband, come to find out the debt is for a person that works for the same company I work for and he told them to call to seek collections.  I'm unsure how to handle this since this isn't even my debt, but the calls are very harrassing.  We asked them to take us off their call list since that person doesn't office her and she said she would not and she will continue to call until the debt is paid. Any suggestions?

Report them to the FTC and your state attorney general's office.
