- Caller: Preferred Merchants
- Really AnnoyedIt's Preferred Merchant Supplies and they called claiming that I had a contract with them. I know I do not, as they had pulled this scam on the previous manager and I was warned about it.
THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT.- Caller: Preferred Mechant Supplies

- BenThis number called one of our stores claiming that our company owner signed a 1 year contract with them to be our thermal paper supplier. They then drop shipped two cases of thermal paper for an absurd amount of money ($82 per case of 12 rolls) directly to the store.
We called them, refused to pay it, and told them if they wanted it back that they needed to pick it up at their expense. I also sent them a registered letter saying that if it was not picked up within 30 days it would be destroyed.
Five days after they signed for the letter, they called the home office and tried to fast talk the actual authorized purchaser into saying yes a couple of times and agreeing to rate increases. We recognized the company name, however, and told them again that we were paying them nothing. We also told them if they wanted any further communications with our office that it needed to be through a lawyer.
Be very careful when dealing with them as they seem to be very smooth, fast talkers and rather good at their scamming game. When they called us, this did not say they were Preferred Merchant Suppliers, but claimed to be a company called Omni Paper.- Call type: Unwanted
- RichardCaller asked manager or boss in rude way.
I answered "Nobody here" and I hung up. - T&WThese people called our store in August 2009 and talked to clerk on duty.
Asked if we needed supplies for credit card printer?. We were getting low so she said yes(what a opening)the person said we will send you 20 rolls of printer paper. She inquired if this was our standard order? The answer was yes.The manager of the store was not aware of this until he received call that the invoice was 90 days past due.The charge per roll of paper was $12.25 per roll. The same roll of paper @ Staples cost $3.10 what a scam.- Caller: OMNI PAPER SUITE A# 177 CHAMPLAIN NY

- Nick| 6 repliesWhen I took over the store as the owner I got a call within my first week of operation. The caller rudely said "Its time for your scheduled order for thermal paper".
I then asked, "do we usually order from you? How many rolls in a box and how much?".
Caller says rudely again "Yeah, you guys order every month. There is 60 rolls in a box for $60 + shipping"
The box of rolls came and there were only 12 but charged the $60 price. So I called and they denied ever saying there is 60 in a box, its always 12 rolls. I told them I'm only paying for 12 rolls and shipping, so they threatened and sent the claims to collections. I got harassed for 4 months but now is okay.
I should have known better than to buy anything from rude people.- Caller: Preferred Merchants / Omni Paper

- Yum Yum Ya Ya replies to Nick| 5 repliesI own 2 restaurants and OMNI paper co has been trying to run this scam on my cashiers for several years. I just recently filed a complaint with my state Attorney General's office. This company cannot be allowed to continue running such a scam! I will also be contacting the BBB in New York & my state to file complaints. I would suggest to everyone that has been contacted by this company to file a report with their state attorney general and BBB. The more people who complain on this company the better! - RnBThis number called my store, by looking at call display I knew it was a telemarketer. They asked who was in charge of the Credit machine, assuming its a call trying to get me to switch debit machine companies i told them "The machine is working Thanks!" and hung up.
She actually called right back saying "Sorry I didnt understand what you were saying?"
I replied "Our machine is working" she then says "Well i wasn't calling to see if it was working but for supplies obviously you are not qualified to take this phone call" and hung up!
It's hilarious that a telemarketer would get mad enough to call back let alone trying to trash the qualifications of me a business owner.
This made my day!!!!- Caller: no clue!!

- KATHERYNJust a scam. If you fall for it and they send for collections, get a lawyer otherwise they will get $$ from collections and they'll just keep doing what they're doing. Write a little note next to the phones to make sure the cashiers and any new hires will know about it and won't forget.

- LouiseI have been dealing with the same company operating under different names for a couple of years now. Omni Paper, Preferred Merchant Supplies, and several others. All with an 877 telephone number and a mailing address in Mont-Royal Quebec that is not traceable. The format of the invoices look identical every time. Don't bother paying them, and don't let them intimidate you with their collections calls. They're not going to follow through with any threats that they make. Just tell them that you are not going to pay, and they will have to pick up the package at their own expense, otherwise you will accept it as a gift.

- C| 3 repliesI have fallen for this scam. And now I am stuck with a whole bunch of paper that I do not need because we got a new debit machine.
I was told that I could return any unused paper for exchange for paper for the new machine. And yes, when I call the numbers listed on the invoices (which we paid already) they are no longer in service and there is no forwarding information. I was scammed by the Canadian version - 5455 Pare Street, Suite 101 Mount-Royal QC. And now, I'm going to have to explain this to my boss. Yippee,
Any suggestions on how to contact this company?- Caller: OMNI PAPER
- C replies to C| 1 replyAnd so, I called the courier service that sent out the paper. They gave me another number to call 514 920 0480. This number is also not in service, but when I called to ask them for a contact number, the operator knew exactly what company I was talking about. I told her that she should stop sending packages for them.
- c replies to CWel, the call to the courier worked... but then OMNI sent the package via Canada Post. I refused their parcel at the post office.... Take that Omni! They are crooked buggers... and persistant. I will not be surprised by an angry 'collections' call or letter from them.
- Janice| 1 replyHah I got scammed by Omni for rolls, then they call saying the shipment was broken in to two, so they are ready to ship it. I told them I paid for the first half and found out about the scam and to cancel the second shipment..I don't need it.
They keep calling every few months to try the same story again.
Today I get a call again now say they are Global Paper..with same story.Hung up on them tried the old 1-877-920-7559 and it has been disconnected.
Go figure they are running under a new name- Caller: Global Paper aka Omni Paper
- Office ManagerNow they are calling themselves Global Paper Supplies!! Beware!!! Plus before they realized I got on the phone from being on hold I heard them calling my co-worker a "spoiled brat". I guess because she put them on hold for me to handle.
The number I got from him is 888-906-0824 and I spoke with a Gary. His ext is 229. The number did work because I told him I was going to do some research and would call him back. When I called back it lead straight to him.- Caller: Global Paper Supplies

- office manager replies to CThe number I got today (10-22-10) was 888-906-0824 This number works (for now). I spoke with a Gary who tried to scam me and he gave me a callback number because I wanted to do more research (he claimed that we ordered at the end of last year and never paid and he is fixing to send us to collections)
His ext is 229 and I was able to call him back to inform him that I would be reporting him to BBB) He also claimed that he was the "owner". Maybe this will help. - Small Business Owner| 29 repliesI also got a phone call from Gary at extention 229. I'm in Ontario, Canada, I told him I was done with Omni, that they'd scammed me out of enough money, he said that I had a half shipment left, and I told him that I would gladly fax him the Final Shipment stamped invoice from their LAST 'last half of your shipment' shipment. He swtiched gears and told me that his NEW company, Global Paper, had bought Omni's database and that he was simply trying hard to fix all the 'customer problems' that Omni had created. He said he knew that Omni had issues with customer service and hard sell tactics and that he wasn't about that at all, that he just wanted me back as a customer no matter what. I told him Omni had lawsuits too, he said he knew. When I then asked WHY on EARTH he'd spend good money buying the database of a corrupt company he made noises about 'making it right for the customer'. I told him I wasn't interested and to stop harrassing me and my company. He gave me the same phone number listed above in case I "changed my mind". I have been scammed by these people too many times over the years (I was a new business owner when it started, and didn't know any better, NOW I know to always check online!!!) and if I get one more phone call I'm going to the BBB.

- Angel| 1 replyI just got another call from Omni Paper. I just took over my business in May. They called in June and said the previous owners accepted a contract and that now it's mine. I argued with them and they said "we'll make a deal and send you one last shipment then end the contract." So I agreed. Well then they called in August saying they needed to send the last half of shipment. I told them where to stick their shipment. And again today (Nov 11) they are calling under the new name Global Paper and trying the same tatics. I told him if he sent me anything, it would be returned and that I will be calling the BBB. Then he hung up on me. He called back five minutes later and said he didn't know why the phone disconnected. He gave me a call back number and said to call him when I need more register rolls. I won't be calling him.
